This would not make it past the legal department anymore.

Hey Ric @blessingx, what is Esme's costume this year?

The second year of a pandemic seems more kind to Halloweenish fun than the first. For Friday's school Historical Halloween she was kickass Jeanne/Jean Baret/Barret/Baré (1740–1807), botanist and first woman to circumnavigate the global (disguised as a man on Louis-Antoine de Bougainville’s 1766–1769 expedition). For today/tonight's choice she was inspired by 2013s mega-meme-Ylvis-zeitgeist-experience The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?).

What kind of music?

Moody Americana, I guess? Songs inspired by COVID lockdown marathons of Unsolved Mysteries, apparently. Always heard good things about her stuff but it never clicked for me. This album hit immediately.

Also grabbed tickets to see them in February when they come through SF.

Arooj Aftab's Vulture Prince, based on an Elvis Costello article where he said he had a little trouble finding new stuff until this one.

I'm not sure if this is really good, or a little too gimmicky. But I've been enjoying it.

Houdini

Houdini
Melvins

I saw them, probably on that tour. (At Bogart's in Cincinnati) They opened for mudhoney. Absolutely worst concert I have ever been to. On purpose, by them. They essentially played one deep plodding chord for a half hour. Excruciating. But also awesome.

"CLOSURE / CONTINUATION is due for release on Music For Nations/Sony on 24th June 2022" Dang we have to wait until mid next year? Good sample track though.
