  1. Past hour
  2. More the weekend, but we got a fatty mass surgically removed from the doggo, but 2 nights in of course she rips out the stitches AND her drain tube (and most likely ate it lol) requiring her to go back in and get stapled but as you can see she is doing well 🤣
  3. Piazzolla, A.: Suite Punta Del Este / Bragato, J.: Graciela Y Buenos Aires / Arizaga, R.: Passacaglia by Camerata Bariloche (1994) https://album.link/8gdjrv5h0tsx7 Example: This was a staple in my high end listening for a long time. I just happen to think about it the other day. It took a little bit to find it on Qubuz, happy I did. I do miss Dorian Recordings, they were a reliable brand back in the day. Edit: forgot to add that it is good on a warm day.
  4. Today
  5. Squid Game Season 3. Binged it over the weekend. Still highly enjoyable.
  6. I guess you got your money's worth out of the previous tires! Be glad you had a spare. A lot of new vehicles don't have one. I went out and bought real tires and rims for both my cars. Getting caught 200 miles from home with a flat at night with nothing but one of those little portable inflators sucks.
  7. Did you order through Costco?
  8. ^^ thanks for the reminder. I have been waiting to watch the full 2025 Le Mans, but there have only been highlights. Until now... I have not carved out the time to marathon this yet, but at least I know it is there. :}
  9. Getting a used tire as I type this. Ordered two more Michelin tires for the front. Rear Michelins are still in good condition. Will get those mounted Saturday.
  10. Not attended live, but I've been watching Glastonbury on the TV. Octogenarian Rod Stewart in the Legends slot on the Pyramid. His voice is nothing like it used to be. We saw him live when he was a mere 65 and he was great then. But given his age he still managed an hour and a half. He had a personal trainer back stage the he kept going to from time to time while the band played stuff. And a last night a stunning set by Olivia Rodrigo - a real tour de force aged 22, She has crammed a whole lot into her young life (check Wikipedia) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2lekyx02j4o . Young enough to be my granddaughter, I had to remind myself that Mrs S and I were married at Rodrigo's age!
  11. Found in France. Maybe you can be Flattop Steve!
  12. Went to my previous abode to try to disassemble an Ikea desk. Failed. How humiliating.
  13. Funny how the band names become more and more appropriate as we age. FU and Stay Out are my reactions to just about everything these days.
  14. Sounds like you might need multiple tires! Glad you are safe! Have the mechanic look them over and make sure the pressures are right. I'm also having new tires put on this week. Treat your tires with care and they will take care of you.
  15. One of my best friends manages a CA East Bay Punk band called Stay Out. They made their first East Coast visit this weekend. Lots of fun, but shit did I feel old! Another "old" local punk band, the FU's, also played (and their age was showing as they didn't want to headline, as that would be too late 🤣). Great fun, energetic and often melodic music, and weary bones and muscles. Stay Out did a REALLY good version of Green Day's "Welcome To Paradise" as an encore.... Stay Out is the second/longer video, FU's are the shorter one. FU's lead singer reminds me of Gibby Haynes from Butthole Surfers.... IMG_6003.MOV IMG_6006.MOV
  16. Made a stir fry for Rini and myself on the Weber griddle. We both have lots of leftovers. The griddle works great, as it heats up very fast, and gets very hot! The meat was a sliced rib eye marinated in peanut sauce. It was yummy!
  17. Actually yesterday. Had a flat tire on my way back home from cooking a stir fry with Al's Sister Rini, while the dogs played. I knew that the front tires were getting worn, but had no idea how bad they actually were. After jacking up the van and pulling the wheel off, the entire inside edge of the tire has steel belts poking through the rubber. Took the time to examine the other front tire, and I see shiny steel. So tomorrow morning I'm taking a few hours off work to get a new tire. I'm just hoping that I can make it to the tire store in San Rafael. Very nervous, as I now have no spare.
  18. Nibbles, with some pool pals.
  19. Yesterday
  20. Looks like conventional armies are dead. Between Ukraine and Isreal's tactics, tanks have become deathtraps. Drones, shoulder fired weapons, and sneaky tricks seem to be the winning move. $$$ stuff like ships, aircraft and armor no longer mean success. If you can knock out a multimillion dollar aircraft or tank with a $50,000 shoulder weapon or a couple thousand dollar drone, all those big ticket defense contracts become worthless. The USMC has already made a big Change by phasing out tanks. Hard to say if the US army will follow suite. The same type of attack used to take out Iranian leaders and air defenses can be used against any country including ours. I'm pretty sure it's keeping people In high places awake at night.
  21. 24 Hours of Spa - race highlights:

  23. Hell ya, didn't know S4 was out. Thanks. (Hopefully not final)
  24. Just finished the fourth (and final?) season of The Bear
  25. Ribs, pulled pork, and sausage also on the menu.
