  2. Great to know that. You could further reduce the PCB size by using a compact bridge rectifier like the CSPB40K-HF. It has a much smaller footprint compared to standard rectifier packages and still handles decent current. Like the way how you fix and test the 2A3 tube. Recently, I purchased these soldering tweezers from JBC to perform SMD work. Nice and decent.
  3. We had a drooly cat who used to sleep on the amps. Every now and again I had to take the perforated covers off and wipe of the dried drool. Long gone alas - she got to a decrepit 19 and we had to say goodbye. In her heyday she was the scourge of the rodent population, including a family of rats that had defeated every other way of killing them.
  4. Sweet!!! When does the vintage ggarmin go up for sale? I was using my iphone then buddy gave me a Galaxy Fold 5. Didn't really consider the "ooops, I don't have a bike computer" thing until I was getting ready for a ride after I sold my iPhone.
  5. In the sprit of getting dirty I decided to list the Tarmac for sale and jump on this deal: It's a 2022 Cervelo Aspero 5 and the top of the line model at that. MSRP $10,500, I paid about 40c on the $ for it and the owner admitted that he bought it and essentially never rode it - condition backs that up. It also came with a like new Garmin head unit and tail light/radar setup which is pretty sweet. When I recently learned that they completed a ~9mi section of rail trail that can become ~50% of my morning commute I decided it was time to dive into the deep end. The color is something like "purple sunset" (cheers to you, Dusty) and is straight up wild. We'll see how the new modified commute goes tomorrow.
  6. That's an expensive cat warmer.

  8. Thanks to @Shawn, who found the device used in Elekit filament supply module, I now have a working DHT switched mode filament regulator ”prototype” (in red circle). Board size 23mm x 15mm (0.9in x 0.6in) Soldering looks awful, but remember my eyes are 69 years old and my hands are not that steady.
  9. I'm sure the B2 pilots would be tickled to know they were flying fighters...

  13. That explains why nothing happened, I must have taken a wrong turn in Albuquerque
  14. At least Mark Rutte (NATO Secretary General) can turn the (insincere? , surely not) flattery up to 11. "‘Dear Donald.’ Trump posts fawning private text from NATO chief on social media" https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/114738606142462442 https://apnews.com/article/trump-rutte-text-message-nato-signal-6263810ac3ca77a5bf7366499f51c772 Maybe Donald will like NATO now?
  15. Strike Set Back Iran’s Nuclear Program by Only a Few Months, U.S. Report Says Classified findings indicate that the attack sealed off the entrances to two facilities but did not collapse their underground buildings. Karoline Leavitt, a White House spokeswoman: “The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump, and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program,” she said in a statement. “Everyone knows what happens when you drop 14 30,000-pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.” https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/24/us/politics/iran-nuclear-sites.html?unlocked_article_code=1.RU8.H7dG.HU9ojgiGxKUK&smid=url-share (Gift article)
  16. Well, he is definitely an authority on people who don't know what the fuck they are doing.
  17. Started watching that last night (1-3) and it is good and kept our attention. I'm going to take a look at the other one (Survivors) mentioned as well. Thanks!
  18. I enjoyed that series ,Hope for season 2
  19. So presidential. Bonus round: Define article 5 ahead of the NATO summit.
  20. hi spritzer thanks for your reply looks like yes, the only option is to simply either replace the transformers with others or just get a "direct drive" es amplifier today I bought an old KGSS for a very good price, I think this will be my solution for now
  21. You are measuring DC resistance of the transformers and not AC inductance but it is still rather low for my liking. So I'd say the transformers installed as clearly not suitable for this role so I'd replace them with something that actually works.
  22. No-one's going to take me alive The time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive... (Everyone barely contains themselves from headbanging)
  23. Hello everyone I recently bought a Stax SRD-7 with replaced transformers the essence of the problem is that the new transformers have a primary winding resistance of only 0.1 ohms (this is if we just measure it with a multimeter) - there are about 32 turns of thick wire, so their compatibility with amplifiers is very limited - amplifiers usually require at least 4 ohms. You will say that a simple solution to this is to simply add 4-8-16-32 ohm resistors in series with the primary winding. But. If i add at least 1 ohm - high frequencies begin to drop sharply, this is very audible in headphones. Is there any other way to put something instead of resistors so that this modified Stax SRD-7 can be safely connected to power amplifiers? I looked at solutions to this issue in KS M03, for example, there is a "maxim max97220a" for this - but this is a very cheap and poor sounding solution. I will be grateful for any ideas. The right decision would probably be to just throw out the Stax SRD-7 and buy a proper amp, but I want to give it a chance by using all the options.
