  3. We know both political parties have support among artists, but do these Hank Williams Jr. lyrics even make sense (logically or structurally)? Does Hank consider McCain a "good-looking dish"? Did "ol' Hank" (assuming this is Jr., though he may be digging up dad) fix anything I should be aware of? Video The left wing liberal media have always been a real close knit family But most of the American people dont believe em anyway you see Stop and think it over Before you make your decision If they smell something wrong, they're gonna come down strong You know McCain-Palin tradition John and Sarah tell you just what they think. They're not gonna blink. And they don't…

Who has a DVD-Audio player? And what type of music do you like? I recently went thru my collection and found multiple duplicates of some of my DVD-Audio discs. I intend on giving them away to some lucky Head-Case member/s. I?ll post a list and I?ll have to figure out how the lucky people will pay for the shipping (I?m not going to pay for giving stuff away). My one caveat is that I don?t want to give these away so that someone can sell them. So recipients are honor bound to NOT RESELL these discs. If I find out that any recipients don?t have a DVD-Audio player, I?ll Kick their ASS! If I find the discs being resold, I?ll kick your ASS! If you say anything about …

In the tradition of the following threads... '07 Mid-Year Report Card '07 Year-End Report Card '08 Mid-Year Report Card ... it seemed time, or even past time, to revisit this tradition. Each year I find an album or two worth checking out thanks to the impressions in these threads by those here at the -Case. Unfortunately my preliminary list has 30 titles released in '08, and countless others that are a year or two old but are new to me. So I'm going to need to make some time to sit down and go through them, slap a grade on each and follow up with the appropriate comments. Despite tales of the downfall of good music, I found this year to be better than decent (even…

  10. I hadn't seen this posted anywhere and thought it was worth mentioning... Sorry, lost the link to where I found it... Hopefully remastered means fixing the channel dropouts in "The Moor" and not brickwalled loud. Should be interesting. MA,YH is still my favorite Opeth album, but this could add new life to Still Life. That channel dropout really drives me nuts, as "The Moor" is my favorite track on that album.

Is there an easy-to-use, reputable service/store to sell CDs to over the internets? I am looking for something that makes the process very simple, which is why I am not currently contemplating the forums. I welcome your suggestions.

So I am getting ready to delve back into SACD after a fairly long hiatus. I have the Diana Krall discs, Dire Straits, Alice in Chains, maybe Jacintha too..... Any new or must have SACDs out there in the past couple of years??

In the Krautrock thread Tony mentioned Magma. Since Magma is Zeuhl and not Krautrock I volunteered to create this thread to talk about Zeuhl and related bands. I am not sure how many know what this Zeuhl stuff is all about so I will give a brief introduction and list a few bands/albums that I like. Zeuhl School basically amount to Magma influenced bands, but there is a lot of crossover into Gong and RIO territory as well. Zeuhl is an adjective in Koba

I bought Cosmogramma a few years ago and I noticed it is recorded at a deafening level. Other people seemed to have picked up on this as well. Does anyone else think his albums are too loud? I have to turn the volume to nearly zero just to listen to the CD. Some people think the clipping is intentional...

Is it just me or has Country music made a rather large shift? I'm a fan, but it's not exactly known for a tradition of embracing the future (not to mention racial harmony, gender equality, modern technology/alternative fuels, harmonious international relations, etc.). A single song, by a not overwhelmingly talented artist, but is this a sign of the genres future? Man, it's like a punk song encouraging love towards the previous generation - 'cause, you know, they tried. Doesn't happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JAH_V3gb5c

Hey folks, Since podcasting is all the rage (the kids love it ) I thought I'd start a thread about it. I don't listen to many Podcasts but I really love http://www.daveslounge.com/. It's downtempo/electronica/trip-hop stuff. A lot of music off the Podsafe music network and a lot of stuff from CDBaby (indie artists) So what's on your 'Pod?

  19. Started by Dusty Chalk,

Alright, I'm thinking suites of songs that are shorter than an album side. Some that I particularly enjoy are: Robert Palmer, Sneakin Sally through the Alley, beginning of side 1 -- "Sailing Shoes"/"Hey Julia"/"Sneakin' Sally through the Alley" Rupert Hine, The Wildest Wish to Fly (US version), end of side 1 -- "I Hang on to My Vertigo"/"Firefly in the Night"/"A Golden Age" Planet P Project, Pink World, end of side 3 -- "Behind the Barrier (Pt. 2)"/"March of the Artemites"/"This Perfect Place (Pt. 2)" -- all of side three is dang near perfect, but it comes to such a wonderful crescendo with the March of the Artemites suite. This all came about because I saw a song…
