  1. Just a heads up, I think I've found a killer budget speaker stand. Ultimate support, which normally has 150-200 dollar stands, sells a budget one, jsm70. 4 adjustable heights with an easy locking mechanism, triangular base, comes with rubber feet and metal tiptoe screws for carpet, large top metal plate with a little strip of rubber on the sides that keeps the speaker stable. The whole thing was easy to setup and does not feel or look cheap, I'm truly impressed, all for 59.99 Amazon prime.

  2. Yep - first time - it is not too complex to make - but I think it takes a bit to get it just right - a little dry. I am soaking the second ball in the whey and salt - see how it does. Thanks

  4. You can add a few seconds to your life by doing the below and booting direclty to desktop. 1. After booting Windows 8.1 click the Desktop tile to enter Desktop mode. 2. Right-click any open area in the taskbar, then click Properties. 3. Click the Navigation tab, then check the box next to Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in. 4. Click OK, then reboot. Windows Classic Shell is also handy to get the normal start button back. http://www.classicshell.net/ Stardock is also a nice cheap app that expands the start menu and desktop functionality. http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/

  5. Pulled muscle and quadrupling the dose of meds I had him on, plus a heating pad... seems that's about all that can be done. I took the time to try to get my APAP (FINALLY), as the place I was going to go through was just 30 seconds down the street from his doctor (they're 25 minutes away from the new place). Well, after multiple phone calls to insurance and the center, I find out that the former employee started the authorization, never finished/submitted it, but filed it under "Done." It take 7-14 BUSINESS days to go through, too. (This was supposed to have been started on 11/14). Needless to say, I wasn't happy. The sleep center people apologized profusely, and are going to work on pushing through a rush order with insurance to get everything approved. Yep, that's about how it goes. Xavier, however, seems to be in good spirits and is being a trooper. **BRENT**

  8. Yeah there were some big scorers in the consolation tournament. Looks like both league championship games come down to me and Bryan. Double champion or split? It is looking pretty close at this point and I might have used all my points in the first round.

  13. Secret admirer of this thread for at least a year now. Put some stuff on my list for the holidays and basically ended up with a rig identical to Mikey's. Merkur, Feather, Taylor of Old Bond, and a Parker badger-fur in Ebony. Shaved with it this morning. First time ever using a safety razor... with the help of solid YouTube instructions I stayed cut free. I think with a few months' experience I'll get my neck shave down. Cheeks are perfect though, no way to improve on this.

  15. I personally wouldn't use a computer on the internet if it was running an operating system not receiving active security patching. But my job has me paranoid that way. If you don't have any information you would care if it got put in a database to be resold, and you don't mind if other people make use of your spare network bandwidth and computational cycles, then it matters less, I guess.

  16. I use one of these However, I opened up the bottom and filled it with a tar like substance to give it heft and to make it more solid. I also removed the feet and coated the whole bottom in a piece of adhesive rubber so that it had support everywhere rather than just edge nubs. I can't stand moving my hand off the keyboard to find the mouse, or using touch pads. Sorry, Al.
