You can adjust the cascode without hooking up the high voltage power supplies, by using a 15-20 volt supply (2 nine volt batteries in series will do). Connect the positive terminal of the battery to the positive PS terminal on the board and the negative battery terminal to the end of the 100 ohm resistor closest to the 100 ohm trim pot. Then put a meter across the 250 ohm resistor and adjust the trim pot until you get 2.5 volts, which corresponds to 10 mA for the current source. If you can't get to 2.5 volts, decrease the fixed resistor to 200 ohms, and adjust the trim pot until you get 2.0 volts across the 200 ohm resistor. If the voltage is always higher than 2.5 volts for the 250 ohm resistor, replace it with a resistor around 300 ohms and adjust the trim pot to correspond to 10 mA.

Top of my list for next car. I loved my '08, and this is 200 lbs lighter, with much done to improve handling, center of gravity etc.

Pre-ordered Powertap P1 pedals. The Garmin ones still require a torque wrench and I don't want to deal with that.

Yeah. I'm not saying you're wrong -- it's there -- I just don't hear it as pronounced as you do. Nowhere near as pronounced as you do. I wish I could find my friggin' cursed %$#@! CD3000s. I also think it has to do with the amp -- I think the NuForce is a particularly good match, because other -- better --headphones don't sound that good out of it. I'll try to spend some time listening to it out of the Oppo and other amps soonish.

But in this case, someone else has decided for him that an upgrade was needed. What then?

I've had the Z7's since they were released. I bought them mainly because I have recurring problems with TMJ and initial reports said these were quite comfortable. I have to say, I really love the Z7's both for comfort and sound. Paired up with a Concero HP they're one of, if not my favorite full-sized headphone.

I have been playing Steven Wilson's Hand. Cannot. Erase. nonstop for the last 3 weeks. The album was inspired by the case of Joyce Carol Vincent: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joyce_Vincent I have concluded that this is the best album he has ever been a part of. Almost everything he does has some form of deeper meaning, but this really hits home and comes of as especially sincere. The recent concert only underscores this. I thought I would never say this, but this takes over Opeth's Damnation as the most beautiful album I have ever heard. This is the definition of "so depressing it's gorgeous". So good that I bought the deluxe insane version from ebay. Absolute masterpiece. I cannot praise this album enough.

Thanks for your take. I feel the same way on the HE1000. In a way it is a very musical headphones, but it lacks the resolving abilities & transparency of the SR009. Warmer tonality wise and also very forgiving though. During a complex musical message, the SR009 distance itself from the HE1000. I personally won't paid $3000 for them. $2300 is a fair price for one. Build quality is decent and it is too shiny for my taste. I can see that Fang is going after the HE90 voicing IMO. Still the HE90 is better in my book. On the SuSy Dynahi is great at driving the HE1000 so as the GS-X MKII.
