Update after two weeks: She's bossy, determined, super smart, and very sweet when she's not trying to rule the universe. She's hard to take a picture of because she's so dark and a wiggle monster. Tried my best to get a couple shots of her now. This is the best I can do. Her coat is already starting to lighten, and Havanese are known to even go from dark chocolate to nearly white and sometimes back again, though most fade to a mocha. She's what they call a tobacco color, a rich brown with reddish tones, but I don't think it will last. She's also a fatty girl. Both her parents are under 13 pounds. They say to double the weight at four months for a fairly accurate estimate of adult weight. She's 7.2 pounds at 14 weeks. She's very food obsessed, unlike Watson, and I have to watch her every move or she'll eat everyone's food and scrounge for more. Watson and Ivan adapted pretty much instantly to her, so I got lucky that way. She's also been completely non-reactive to thunder and fireworks, which are still going off in the neighborhood at night (lordy). I am bringing in a trainer, though, for Watson because he's suddenly decided to be that asshole dog on the leash when we're out with her. He's aggressive with any other dogs, except his two buddies in the 'hood, and is starting to be so with people, which he never was before. If I can just get her housebroken sooner rather than later, it's all good. That's about it for now.6 points

It's Lola. It was a top 10 name, but it wasn't really my choice. I wanted to name her Harriet, but no one would call her that except me. She also goes by Bossy, Fatty Patty, and Tank. All suit her quite fine.5 points

Visited with Al & Claire today. Good times! Visited, dined, and toured the local attractions. Al & Claire are wonderful hosts! Beautiful country in the Leelanau peninsula. Sadly, we only had time for a day trip. Hope we can make this happen again.5 points

Al & Al's Random Cars & Coffee in Leland Michigan yesterday: There was an angry mob coming from Flint and spurred on by the petroleum lobby to burn this interloper down to its electrical sockets. And this is the one that started it all: a 1964 Amphicar fresh out of Lake Michigan. Very fun to see this up close And beyond the water dripping off the back, there is some lake algae on the bumper to prove its recent swim4 points

Holy fuck. That was not what I expected. So fucking fast. Near death trying to do the windiest, craziest elevation change roads I have ever seen.4 points

Excellent news, Boo, and good to see you posting some. I will admit that it pleases me to see the Kirk in the background with a bottle on it.4 points

My day was fantastic until Al and Karyl and Nitro the wonder dog left for home. I went down the hill to watch the last critical stage of the Tour de France and my absent-minded MIL had unplugged the TV/cable box and the cable itself during the "storm" (aka light rain) this morning and forgot all about it. Stage 20 was unrecorded and it took 30+ minutes on the phone with Charter Cable to get the box back online and up to date. Currently deciding between watching today's stage from midnight until 3am and waking up later this morning to watch today and tomorrow in a row. Can't wait to get together with you guys again but hope that Kathy doesn't bonk my world the next time.3 points

Thanks, Nate. I've been riding, busy with three animals and work, and trying to stay more out in the world and less online these days. I do check in here every few days, but don't seem to have much to add. I'm a happy lurker mostly.2 points

Well,.. If you "knew" somebody who was currently a member, you could probably find a way to get Undercurrents (nudge-nudge).1 point

I once was asked (insisted) by my sister-in-law for ideas for my birthday or the holidays, forget which. I asked for this very CD, which I had on LP but was not in great condition. Her wide-eyed reaction was "You REALLY want me to go into a store and ask for 'Throbbing Gristle....?!' "1 point

Unlike a lot of people, I was extremely wowed by the HE1000s. Iron Dreamer brought the full monte of Head-Amp stuff to Seattle today. I'd have to spend a lot of quiet time with HEKs and SR-009s to pick a favorite. They both seem to operate on a level beyond anything else I've heard. I felt Audeze caliber impact from the HEKs, which I wasn't expecting. Even out of my underpowered Lyra 2 headphone amp, they were huge and extremely articulate. Bass detail was without equal. Listening to one of my mixes, they picked apart separate bass and sub bass tracks better than I've heard from any headphones. It was great to meet Peter in person too. Finally, an ergonomic point: I read the HE1000s were set too large for all but the biggest heads. They must have adjusted, or the claims were exaggerated. I found them extremely comfortable on my skinny little head.1 point

Did a few more listening tests and even threw the Oppo 105 in the mix. I could hear a tizziness in the vocals on the Oppo compared to the NWO, so I guess all DACs aren't the same (for me). Between the NWO and Yggdrasil, there is a bit more refinement with the NWO, but I could live with just the Yggdrasil. This is really an incredible DAC. I don't see how anyone would be disappointed, unless you were after some sort of softer/less detailed sound. This thing is not clinical sounding at all, very detailed and very natural. Since I don't need three sources, probably going to sell the Audio Note 4.1 if anyone is interested. Another amazing DAC. Old caps have been replaced, new tubes.1 point

I like her voice and would think she would be good live. Sorry for the late and slow start but happy to hear you enjoyed it on balance.1 point
