Drove a RHD car for the first time. If you are anywhere in the uk, might I suggest staying indoors for the next few days? Preferably places with thick walls. Or maybe visit some out of country relatives. Or strangers. Or anyone. That was terrifying. Especially when my phone wouldn't get signal, and I did a tour of all the small towns around heathrow. At rush hour.4 points

So I revised a method that I put aside for a while. Stambler method. http://stamblersbread.com/about.html The starter had been in my fridge for months - not being used or touched. Took it out on Saturday - refreshed it - it seemed to come to life - So yesterday I fed it again and turned it into a couple loaves. And wow I really liked the results. simple 70% All Purpose - 30% Whole Wheat - 75% Hydration. Made pretty (and tasty) loaves this morning.3 points

I decided to play through Dark Souls since I've been fairly sick lately and would have more patience to get past the learning curve. I finally understand the hype around the series, and it's immensely satisfying to go from struggling to get past the basic enemies to becoming a silent specter of death.1 point

Awesome videos, Chris! I think you need to come online and hone your skills in PCars at some point this week.1 point

Allison and her dad were listening to stupid XM's stupid '60's on 6' channel over the weekend and it corrupted me to start this week. The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds 40th Anniversary... I don't know if it's blasphemy to listen to this in stereo but it does sound purty good1 point

I think you did great, Dreadhead. Really. I hope your tires last as long as you hope. Racing is hard on them... If they don't, there are other good options that I expect will improve upon the OEM rubbers and still meet class specs. Best of luck. HS1 point

All Mk2 parts will fit the Mk1 007 but they will all be different color. That's simply the Stax way of doing things... Impossible to tell how long a set will last, way, way too many variables.1 point

Hi Master Spritzer, I roughly went through Ebay and found some of the parts for 007 but not sure if they are compatible with the old 007 mk1? The accessories is not cheap though Another very specific and difficult question. How long for a brand new pair 007 mk1 to have the parts worn out? The product photo sent by my seller seems quite mint. He includes me a spare new pad as well. Having stax amp sitting there without headphone is killing me...1 point

Well serial numbers on Stax stuff mean less than nothing. They aren't linear and they flip between the ranges at will. The only exception might be the 009 but there is no way to know for sure. All Mk1's have the same issues, cable entry is a weak point, the elastic in the headpad will give out and the earpad foam will not last. The older sets have their own issues as Stax used a different material in the headpads and arcs which becomes rather tatty with age. The Mk2's fixed all of this and for me the new EP-007 pads are the best Stax have ever done. Not the fucking disaster which are the 009 earpads. Don't get me started on that clusterfuck...1 point

It is truly shocking how far they go with this stuff. Kevin and I are seeing it as they now have our version of the KSA-5 for sale, complete unit which really doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. From now on I'll never release board files for the final optimized version of something. On this note though I had a stroll through Aliexpress and they are ripping off a lot of stuff. Full Dartzeel clones in the same livery and everything. I for one only use high life caps though it is a struggle to keep stuff small while doing that. The main PSU caps usually have a lifetime of 3000hr at 105°C (some more than that) and they run at less than 50°C so at least 10000hr of life in them.1 point

Is it considered rude to ride circles around the people you're ridding with? https://www.strava.com/activities/548929949 Barley managed to get the average over 10mph. Link permission fixed.1 point

The main issue I had with my 007 mk1, which was either a 70xxx or 71xxx, don't remember, was the intermittency that eventually developed in one side, and is a known problem with insufficient strain relief around the cable attachment. So asking if either channel is ever intermittent would be #1, and I would also ask what the age of the pads is, as the foam can deteriorate pretty quickly. Otherwise, they're pretty robust afaik. My Mk 2.9 007A has a SZ2 serial number. It is a bit brighter than the Mk1 and is notably more dynamic but also not quite as smooth. FWIW I like it a lot...1 point

I am not allowed to run R compound in the GS class. I was planning on waiting until next year for new rubber. I am getting more comfortable with my placing as I realized that both people that beat me were experienced, the winner has been running his car for years and had the rear sway bar and better rubber. The next guy is very active in SCCA and races his corvette on the track. I was the first novice.1 point

It's essentially this but with a few additions. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/yogurt-marinated-grilled-chicken-366453 Cumin, deghi mirch, tandoori powder, paprika, liquid smoke, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, yogurt. I'm not sure if the yogurt is the difference because my mom gets some culture every time she goes to India from the bakery in our home town and brings it to the states and makes yogurt every other day at home. Basically a little portion of it is set aside as the seed for the following batch. Haven't found yogurt that tastes nearly as good or creamy in America.1 point

Congratulations! That's a great start for a new ride. Most beginners overdrive a car. Key is momentum, keeping the shifts at a minimum (especially if you're a stick car), don't over brake or over pedal....momentum. Sounds a lot easier than it is. Be ready for a lot of tire purchases HS1 point

I got my ass handed to me. I did like the B Pillar location though Edit: Turned out I got 3rd out of 6. The guy I was talking to destroyed everyone so I was more competitive than I thought in the rest.1 point

Last night I dreamed I attended a travel team event and we all visited a specialist whisky store, where I became overly refreshed. Next morning, I found that you fuckers had taken me to a tattooist, who photo-realistically reproduced the facade of the store on the palm of my left hand. Everybody seemed to agree that this would be a brilliant memento. Then we went to get poutine.1 point

17.59 miles today. 35 since Sunday! He had a pretty bad fall, but has a story and a cool scar now. It was a shop ride and we did the long one in the slower/15 MPH group. My watch doesn't auto pause so again, we were moving faster than 11.3 MPH the entire time. Xavier totally was out riding the older kid on a CAAD5 Cannondale. He's a boss. The ride leader is a shop employee. He didn't see the crash but he rode back and helped look over the bike. He later rode up and said to leave the bike with him overnight and he'll tune it up and make sure it's in good shape after the crash. Didn't buy from these guys, and have only spent 10$ with them in my life. We have 5-7 solid bike shops in town, and they are all fucking great. So lucky, shop wise. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1124976755 Edit: at dinner we looked at his Garmin. He's done just shy of 100 miles in the past month and change. That's awesome. **BRENT**1 point

The biggest is the discovery that we can shoehorn in the Mundorf EVO caps for the parafeed caps: http://diyforums.org/Torpedo-III/TorpedoIII-tweaks3.php Then there's also a new tube CCS, which several have installed with good results. I should be offering it as an option/side kit soon when the boards come in. There is an output CCS in the works, but Doug's 2nd attempt apparently blew up on him this evening, so the jury's out on that one, yet. Maybe it was the flux capacitor.1 point
