  7. I loved that too! I amazes me how the Coen's "slow fall of dominos" keeps me glued to the story and characters. Sometimes I wonder if it's an experiment in pacing that we're all subjects in. And you never know how or where the main characters will evolve into but I loved all the main's this season. More, more, more (speaking of which, the show has had me searching for long forgotten hits time after time)!

  10. Lance is fencing Russian fencers this week and he will fence two Korean national team fencers next week along with having private coaching with the Russian and Italian coaches. Fun times, I just hope it makes a difference in Salt Lake City. On the plus side I am getting much better at ordering food and wine in Italian.

  12. My "designed and tested on deployment" Marine Raider watch finally arrived. Nice packaging and a couple of strap options. I think this will be a great Ti beater for the summer when I do not want to wear the other beaters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. @P3t4: The board and schematic archives are in a transitional period right now (read the stax mafia circuit boards thread). If you're after the solid-state Carbon, I think this post has links to the schematics of the Carbon amp and the GRHV power supply. As for boards, you can get your own made (links to recent Gerbers should be floating around here somewhere), or buy from someone who has extras. It'll help to review this entire thread, as I think it covers every tricky point of the build. Other things to read, and think about: The original KGSSHV thread has great info on the basics of building an electrostatic amp. It's old and long, but well worth reading. A few more basics are covered in the old DIY electrostatic amp thread. If you decide to build an off-board heatsink design (like all Carbon variants), I hope you have access to at least a drill press. A full metal shop would be better. Depending on your experience with building high voltage circuits, starting with something non-electrostatic — like a Dynalo with GRLV — might be a good idea.

  15. I always just get the fastest processor and max out the RAM. The only reason I wouldn't is if I couldn't afford it.

  16. I'd probably go for the slower processor and more RAM.

  17. After going to the Apple Store, I'm pretty well settled on the new 13" Macbook Pro. Curious whether people have opinions on processor and memory options. Two i5 options and one i7, the latter of which seems completely unnecessary for my use. Then 8gb vs 16gb for the memory. I usually get more but the Apple genius types said the new MacBook is so efficient that even 7-8 open programs running would not tax 8gb. Advice?
