Did the gen 5 upgrade to my Gumby this morning. It took about 30 minutes, start-to-finish. I'll leave it to others to describe any change in sonics, but I figure it can't hurt the eventual re-sale value. EDIT: If anyone wants the prior gen USB board to play around with, PM me and its yours for the price of shipping.
  2. Very fun day driving. Lost to a ex-national champion and his co-driver in a 2002 Celica
  3. Hold your horses, Steve. This is full on Straight Eye For The Queer Guy. No feature walls. No coordinated throw pillows. Just places to sit and spots for gear and a few other amenities like a kegerator with beer, wine and Diet Coke taps for your HC guests. ?

I would personally go with pure Class A amps. None of the Quad stuff interests me at all and the build quality on the Elite stuff is shockingly bad. One of them has the output transistors on wires going all the way across the chassis as the heatsink on the other side wasn't big enough.
  7. Probably my favorite artist that made plain old rock n roll since I was single digits in age.
  8. Sad day. He will be missed. ?
  9. Oh guys, my Dl-103 and I love this vinyl: I have the same edition (rhino label)
  10. I'm enjoying watching this from the sidelines way too much.
  11. I can probably arrange that.

  13. RIP Monty Hall. I wonder if St. Peter gave him the choice to take what's behind door #1, door #2 or door #3.
  14. Heh, I typically tell clients that if a situation seems too good to be true, to be very suspicious, but since it is an Al thing I guess we will give him the benefit of the doubt but watch him closely.
  15. Most of their work is in the city, in the Castro. I mentioned that I was gay during the phone interview, and he laughed and said that he would benefit from that, as gay customers would feel more comfortable with a gay project manager. Just a little different than the Corpus Christi area. I'm driving out on Oct. 26th. I think it's all covered. The apartment decor is a surprise, so not sure what's what, but I'm sure it's going to be awesome! I managed to save most of my tools by taking them with me when I fled Harvey.
  16. Nice, it seems like there must be tons of high end remodeling in that market. Al has awesome powers, luckily he uses them for the good. When do you move? Do you need anything for the new job/house?
  17. Scrypt! Let’s get you involved in the what are you reading now and the what are you drinking threads. Albeit, I always envision you as drinking exclusively absinthe, the real one, of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Checked this out while reading today. Good stuff. Then The Smiths.

  20. I have enough parts on hand to build at least 80 T2's...
  21. I'd like to introduce my friend DilbertProgrammer, who has signed up and then not posted. He is very good at reading Welcome PMs, and you can make fun of his driving style during our nightly Project Cars adventures. This man enjoys buying things, so make him buy your old crap that you don't want anymore. He has never given me a biscuit, and he has a fairly epic beard. These two things should help ease him into the constant beratement he deserves. **BRENT**
  22. RIP Tom Petty. What a shitty day.
