  1. Just another rendering with the transistor and screw mounting in...
  2. They arrived. Now to get them installed. Edit: going to hold off for a bit given the condition of the roads around here right now.
  3. Oh, fuck fuck fuck. Have loved the Fall for many a year, saw them and Luxuria (Howard Devoto, ex of Buzzcocks) some years back, what a show! And my first job out of college, I used to sing Fall songs walking down the hall. One of the secretaries used to finish my line for Cruiser's Creek all the time....and a co-worker doing the drumbeat for Eat Y'Self Fitter....too many (really stupid but fun) memories.... I read about his final interview, and loved his answer to this: Who would play you in a film of your life? "Rip Torn. Oh, he’s dead isn’t he? I’d really like a dwarf. I like things like that." Cue the dwarf.....RIP to one of my favorites. And RIP to Jim Rodford...obviously won't gush like I just did above, but lots of great output from him!
  4. I've seen a motorized 2500 TKD. Don't think the smaller 600 is motorized.

important indeed. Historically the Ardbeggeddon gathering was this week. There have been several (good and bad) attempts at a haggis. When done well - it can be good. I don't have any for tonight - but I will drink whisky...
  6. I have a permanently grumpy expression too. Wish someone would pay me that much to put my big old face on a product.

That’s an easy mistake from that photo angle. They’re huge with a large front panel. Larger than an old Kenmore washer and dryer pair. And they are old.

Oh, really? Sorry, they had that broad, corner loaded look to them. I stand corrected. I mean, I was just making a random statement, a non sequitur, as it were. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
  9. I wanted to let everyone know im doing a group buy for Dynalo mini enclosures
  10. Ian still likes alt-country female vocals?! Nice to know some things never change. Also checking out this album.
  11. Everything by tribal folk band Danheim. Wholeheartedly recommended.
  12. Hugh Masekela playlist on Tidal HiFi. Such an amazingly diverse musical legacy. https://listen.tidal.com/playlist/b8d0d434-9a72-4b42-9c14-f5f7dfacc419

i would say those are pretty compact, so you can safely drag them into your living room
  14. Oh man, RIP Ursula. Such a lovely person. I always enjoyed going up to see her at Powell's for book signings and such.
  15. Re-reading (for the first time in a loooong time) Asimov's Foundation trilogy. Three very slim books from the early 50's that left a lasting impact on sci fi.
  16. I'm loving it so far. They appear to have consciously avoided repeating themselves and some of the stuff has been crazy, beautiful, scary, and unforgettable. It's bittersweet, too, to see everyone getting old and knowing some of the actors aren't around any more (RIP, Miguel Ferrer). I'm going to try and pace myself with an episode a week. This show deserves my time and it shouldn't be binge watched.
  17. RIP Mark E. Smith, the crazy fucker.
  18. RIP Hugh Masekela.☹️ https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.nytimes.com/2018/01/23/obituaries/hugh-masekela-dies.amp.html
  19. RIP Ursula K. Le Guin. Really liked some of her books. She will be missed. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/23/obituaries/ursula-k-le-guin-acclaimed-for-her-fantasy-fiction-is-dead-at-88.html
