Just finished eating a couple of Sirloins done on the Weber. Did a simple salt, pepper and garlic rub and then a Rosemary butter baste using Rosemary sprigs to do the basting. More importantly, this was the initial run for my new MEATER Block. True wireless meat probes with a nice phone app. I was cooking these to a non HC medium rare (15 year old taste buds) and it came out absolutely perfect. No guess work. Very pleased. I did have to wait a fucking Long time as it was bought on Kickstarter. They have a web site now so you should not have to wait a year and a half for yours.

Nice, Jose! The Ginger Avenger and I went with Xavier (aka Half-Mexican Dragon) to our second mtb demo day in as many weeks. We hit up Pivot today and took out a Mach 5.5, Mach 6, and Switchblade, respectively. Some of the best climbing mtbs I've been on. However, we did have the Biscuit Boy special on hand, just in case.

not going to create a new thread... figured i'd drop some simple thoughts on the Focal Elex that arrived last week. i decided to grab these after reading ample comparisons to Sennheiser and the notion that these are more energetic with better low-end with some semblance of HD580/600/650 balance. my 580's have sounded so good out of gilmore lite mk2 that this intrigued me. all of the below is my direct thoughts vs. HD580. treble is not as lush/obvious and vocals are slightly recessed... i think it's because of the slight upper-mid dip or whatever the fuck that people have measured on both Elear and Elex bass is drastically better in every regard (quantity, detail) imaging/positioning is a fair bit better and soundstage is wider but not much deeper ^because of all of the above, i think i find these slightly easier to listen with across all genres... read a lot of stupid comments that Focal isn't great for electronic which i could not disagree with more. and much better with rock/metal because of the better low end and tweaked treble. they're not bright and they're not fatiguing. couple other things... fit is good, takes 45 minutes or so before i get a hotspot from the headband because of the weight but no biggie. and these have probably the best finish i've ever experienced on any headphone. ever. i cannot make a single critique of the build quality and anyone who does is a bitch. also all black, murda'd-out headphones are dope. @Dusty Chalk #amirite that's all she fucking wrote. these are the first comments i've typed up for a headphone in nearly 10 years so they must have made some kind of impression.

NAD is quality gear. Having owned Yamaha, Rotel and NAD gear I would go with NAD or Rotel over Yamaha. I would also look at what Marantz has to offer especially if you are interested in DSP.

Haven’t got that custom alligator strap I ordered just over two months ago to use on my Oyster Perpetual yet, but was told it would take 8 to 10 weeks, so should have it soon. Now with what happening to the strap I ordered from Russia, where it was thieved on its way to me, I’ve decided I’ll be travelling to the place that’s doing the alligator strap with it being around an hour 20 min from where I live, so there’ll be no worries about this one being thieved. Since getting that Rolex OP and it being automatic, I’m wearing it much more than my Saxonia, and because of that I’ve had the ALS alligator strap fitted back on my Saxonia. I was using another strap to prolong the wear of that ALS strap, but with me now wearing that saxonia occasionally, I thought it only right to have the original back on.

Yesterday was a fun one despite the heat here in TX. A friend invited me to go to the track with him for open test and tune. He's a member at MSR south of Houston. Nice facility where I've run before...over 2 miles and between 15-20 turns....some slow and some quite fast. Can be run clockwise or counter and they were running clockwise. After the rains there was a lot of water off track, but the track had dried nicely before any runs. 30 minutes for cars and 30 minutes for bikes. Good open track program. He first took us out in his 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 sporting Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. Stick shift car. Naturally aspirated six cylinder. What a great drive. He pushed it but not overly hard as the car is just too darn nice to go off track with when there's standing water. Super balanced and I'd have to give the rubber a thumbs up for a street legal tire. Perhaps not the best tire, but very solid. All the nannies were shut off and the car is about as low tech as you can get. Great feedback from the road and damn was it balanced. Great power, braking, etc... What impressed me the most was how forgiving it is of road nasties while still providing great feedback. Super impressed. Sits a bit low to drive around town IMO so I'd be leary of using it as a daily or taking it up a steep driveway / curb. The MX-5 Cup car was what we really came to have fun in. This one has a couple of years on it so it's not the brand new upgraded motor, but it's a fun little ride and a true road car. This one we pushed hard, especially when a friend that had just blown a motor and replaced it with the new one came on the track for a challenge. Great fun! It's only a matter of time and money, right....LOL HS

First attempt at a brisket. 11 hour cook (3 hours in magic pink paper), 5 hours of rest in the cooler. Not perfect but pretty damn tasty!

Been a shitty bike week for me. Have only been riding indoors for months but I decided I should get my bikes summer ready. First I discovered that the braking area on my Mad Fiber front wheel is totally fucked: Contacted the company founder who confirmed I'm out of luck. Pissed off but figure OK I still have the other bike with Zipps to use. FML. Hopefully Zipp will fix but still out a lot of money to get back up and running. At least I wasn't riding either of them.
