  1. Bourbon Moth can be over the top but decent work. I like the whiskey table design. I also like King’s Fine Woodworking for actual learning and also Fisher’s Shop, Stumpy Nubs, Rob Cosman and Tamar. Put some Odie’s Oil on the 3D board so it is about as finished as it is going to get.

  2. I have a flat grind Forrest blade. It's not actually flat. Not flat enough for joinery, and super disappointing. My experience with ridge blades has been mixed. 40 tooth leaves swirls. Rip blade is nothing special. 80 tooth is nothing special and not worth the effort to put it on the saw. I like the custom ground dado I have, but the thickness is inconsistent. To get a 1/2" groove, I have to use a 3/32" chipper and a 0.01 shim rather than a 1/8" chipper. My go to for a while has been a Forrest 48 tooth which does most things better than any specialty blades I've tried. Also, I'd earlier mentioned my love for the Freud ftg rip blade. It cuts cleaner joinery than the ridge 40 tooth ftg that's specifically made for joinery. Go figure. And obviously better than the Forrest almost ftg blade. While I'm on the subject, worst blade I've ever used is a CMT orange that was highly touted by an unscrupulous YouTuber who definitely isn't getting a kickback on them.

  3. I have some big suckers outside as security lights. More like a photon cannon than a light. Anyone making the mistake of trying to break in the back of our house will stand a chance of retina damage

  5. Same as Al, Barrina 8T from Amazon. Super light and easy to hang up, even with all the obstacles in my garage.

  6. Then I align the front, apply the hinges, and use a sawzall to cut the top and bottom 2x4s right in that tiny 1/8" gap. That way everything stays aligned perfectly once you cut the two sections apart. It took me a few years to figure this out, so I thought I'd pass it along.

  7. Second vanity complete. Definitely going with a larger reveal for the kitchen I’m going to do next.

  10. Happy belated birthday! Sorry, I didn't know "Adam" was you, will probably forget by next year, too. Mea Culpa. (facepalm at self) (party favour noise)

  13. Gonna have me a Gesha-off once the new one has degassed a little (was roasted Tuesday, and the Levercraft was frozen after two weeks).

  15. Bought some espresso beans earlier this week. They are a week off roast. Made a great flat white I believe one would call it. Soooooo much easier to produce good coffee with a bean that caters to the machine. HS

  16. I’ll have to check them out, hopefully there is a local supplier. Picked up these Amazon Basics Euro handles for the cabinets. The quality is surprisingly good. Solid stainless with quality look and feel. Best part was they were $1.15. Which is probably bad since I’m just supporting the Bezos and China.

  17. so here is what is going to happen. birgir will use his contacts to purchase one of these if it exists. Then he will determine if he likes it or not and will publish pictures etc. He has yet to publish pictures on the other 2 (or is it 3) stax portables. If he likes it, and if its really $400 then i will buy one. Because there is no way i can build one for $400.

  19. Another CFA is alive and well. Sorted out the issue with the bias when using the SS/ZF switch by doing the following (board rev 1.2): - Remove the 4 ZF jumpers near the 600pF - Increase R44/R49 to 50K - Increase R50/R51 to 4.2K - Remove C9/C10 Set at 190mA, plays beautifly in both modes. A must-have as reference in the amp collection. Thanks to KG for developing this amazing circuit!

  21. It's been somewhat bananas here, with temps either being way above normal with precipitation (earlier in the week 45 and rainy) and now a run of single-digit frigid cold with wind chills deep into the negatives digits. There's virtually no snow left at this point and the skiing is shit from all the rain so it's pretty hard to enjoy winter when it's like that.
