It turned into a bit of a saga, but my brother enlisted Steve to help identify a new tool for the shop that he wanted to surprise me with. My siblings were around the house while my terminally ill brother made many phone calls and repeatedly ordered and reordered the specified machine. That info leaked to me and made me self conscious about him buying me a gift and worried about how it would work out, but nobody (including Steve) would tell me what it was or how it was being delivered. It finally arrived a couple of weeks ago and there was another whole saga to get the 500lb box up to the shop. Turns out it is a dual drum 25" Supermax sander. It is very cool and with some shifting it fits into the shop in a good spot. I wired the 220V/30A connection myself with the same type of plug as the Hammer jointer/planer it sits next to. I am ordering some stuff to make a wye connector on top so that the two tools can also share the same dust collection hose with a quick connect setup. I can tell that this is going to be a great tool to have in the shop at twice the width of the planer and currently set up with 80 and 120 grit papers to cut the sanding time way down on lots of projects. Thanks Tom, and Steve, and even Doug who consulted as well. IMG_0462.mov3 points

Wrapping up the kids bathroom renovation for the boss (while they're on vacation in Ireland). I still have a third shelf to place between the top and bottom shelves, under where the vessel style sink will live. But I need to wait for the plumber to finish plumbing the sink, so I know where to cut around the drain P trap. It will most likely not go from wall to wall like the top and bottom shelves, but will most likely get cut shorter and be mitered back up to the top shelf. Kind of a reverse waterfall. These shelves are milled from rough Redwood. Not the wood I'd choose for a child's bathroom. It's just so soft, that anything will leave a dent. But that's what the boss wanted. Got the wallpaper installed, then the medicine cabinet. As well as the mirror and two floating shelves above the toilet, (toilet not yet installed). And installed the new light fixture, TP holder and shower curtain rod. Re-purposed an old door for the pocket door. All that's left is the middle shelf and putting on the shower curtain, which I've left off to give the plumber more room to do the shower trim out. Plumber arrives Saturday. Boss' wife and kids arrive Sunday. Boss arrives a week later.1 point

The protector board needs a solid ground, i.e. split +/-15V power with their common GND tied to the amp GND. A single floating 30V would not work, because the 12V relay only draws power from the +12V and will throw the GND off center and causes feedback to the comparators. You can share the +/-30v with the amp. Make sure the variety of 7812/7912 you use are rated for 35V or more, and the 7812 has sufficient heat sink for continued operation of the relay.1 point

R.I.P. George Winston. But I'm not done with Pat Robertson yet. May El Diablo's giant barbed penis plunder your anal cavity for eternity. Let's not pretend that it's virginal though. No doubt you've experienced more than one parishioner's cock inside it. Possibly a fist or two as well. I'm very familiar at decoding those grimaces.1 point

My DynaFet isn't in a state that I could try my protector board w/30V GRLV (casing it). Maybe I could rig something up this weekend to try to see how it behaves?1 point

They do sell as spare parts. You just have to dig deep enough. Click this link and scroll down till you find side panels 1/2/3/4 U and lengths of 170/230/280/350 mm.1 point

I doubt he gives the slightest shit what anybody thinks of him...he has his shtick and it works for him. The guy has made bank by doing just this for years and by this stage anybody watching him and thinking there's any objective value there is more retarded than he is. I would hope most watch him purely for entertainment value. Me? Don't have the time or inclination. (Just realised this is my first post...and it's about Zeos...not terribly auspicious but I'll try do better).1 point

We do know the entire amp topology and those relays are to switch signals, nothing else. You can accuse me of hating Chinese products but yet I buy everything I can from China to test out... weird that... I have every electrostatic amp or headphones I can get from China. It can't be that you are just a retarded Topping fanboy, is it? Have you tried this thing or even measured it? I just wonder what anybody at Topping was thinking about when designing this thing, how was a roughly 1W+1W amp supposed to drive electrostatics? I mean they could have put in a simple Class D unit (while not ideal) with far more power and get a better result. You only need to understand the basics with regards to electrostatics to know you just need more power for them to behave. Now that is far more interesting though I'll have to call into question any specs they publish... or even think they can reach. The parts are available to make a fully discrete amp with excellent specs, hell it is possible to make it all SMD if you can figure out the heatsinking issues. Also reading ASR's evaluation of R2R dacs just hurts my brain. There is so much stupidity there it is simply painful...1 point

As someone who grew up on 80s wrestling, I recognized early how important a good heel was to any narrative. Clown ass Hulk Hogan owes a huge amount of his success to wrestlers like the Sheik and Andre the Giant.0 points
