I'm pretty sure everyone has done this at one time. Hung onto a headphone or piece of gear that You want to like, but don't. Mine is a q701 I bought used 12 years ago real cheap. Cheap because it smelled like an ashtray. Pulled it apart and cleaned it well, and did the bass port mod. I don't like the sound. Put it away and then tried it out again when I changed DACs and amps. I still don't like it. I'm trying real hard to make myself get rid of it. It's hard to be a horder.3 points

i know that birgir has a new batch of megatrons, do not know if they are all sold or not has to deal with eu rules. soren is also making megatrons also has to deal with eu rules. headamp has amplifiers, dont think there is an export tariff so this might be a bargain. there is a guy in california that i cant remember who is doing custom megatrons.1 point

There were indeed no tubes in the electrostatic output, it was all ultra cheap high voltage opamps. Output power is roughly that of the cheapest Stax amp with worse quality.1 point

^^^ This. I generally ride in the low 70s, spinning faster doesn't feel good for me or my legs. I've tried to train up to a faster cadence via Zwift and it just feels wrong. So I don't fight it. I'm fast enough to where I want to be fitness-wise w/ no aches and pains - from cycling anyway.1 point

One more Stephen Gill post as I find his work fascinating and you may too. He followed the above with Please Notify the Sun. "It was in 2017 that I began to have an inkling that a single fish might contain a universe of infinite proportions and how amazing a journey within its body could be. So I started to research everything I would need to embark on such an expedition. By January 2020 I had built a work top, obtained a microscope, a camera, optics, lights and fridge." https://collectordaily.com/stephen-gill-please-notify-the-sun/ https://americansuburbx.com/2021/02/stephen-gills-sublime-decay-please-notify-the-sun.html1 point

highly similar to hev70 sennheiser amp. and by that i mean n-channel fet as current source into another n-channel fet with grounded gate drive. sennheiser amp single high voltage + 600v. this amp +/-400v (initial guess on current way off) output device is infineon imw120r350m1 which has input capacitance of 3460pf. kind of high. there are better parts to use. like this one. C3M0900170D which has input capacitance of 202 pf. calculated output current is about 12.5ma and about 5 watts per heatsink. going to get fairly hot. mc33078 opamps perform very differently inverting and non-inverting. koss esp950 uses the same part in a very different way. much better ways of doing the unbalanced to balanced conversion. power supply about as basic and cheap as possible. the chinese will do this for less than $500. which means that this is infinitely better than the topping eha5. likely sounds better too.1 point

Watched 6 eps this weekend. Great writing. The kind that is refreshingly honest, but not annoyingly "smart", iykwim. Caplan is the real star here, serving triple-duty as not only her own character in the show, but also as the omniscient narrator AND Fleishman's inner dialog voice. She kills at all three.1 point

Fleishman is in Trouble I finished episode 3 yesterday. Not bad. The sad part is that it reflects a world that truly exists everywhere. Waiting for it to be surprising at some point.1 point

So yesterday night, I had blood in my urine, like my pee was strawberry flavoured. Fucking freaked out, was thinking like "worst experience of my life". Went to ER immediately. After waiting half an hour and drinking lots of fluid, even before seeing the doctor, I passed the effing bladderstone on my next urination. That was THE WORST experience of my life. Nothing in solid form should ever pass from there. It was out of blue. I haven't had any pain or anything and within an hour I peed blood and passed a small red lentils sized bladderstone. I don't have any pain or burning but going to take antibiotics for a week. It was a wake up call like "you're not a young guy any more, should start take care of yourself better" TL;DR: I peed blood, shot a small stone from my penis and felt old.0 points
