I got the parts in this afternoon and had a chance to start stuffing. Here's the back of the board. A couple of things wrong. The holes for the IEC inlet are a bit small. I can drill them out since all the traces are on the bottom. The other more important issue is I used the wrong size QFN-20 pattern for the regulators. Luckily I have an off-board option that I'll be using on this version. I ordered a couple of sig78/79 regulators from AMB's site. I can test the rest of the board so I will continue stuffing. Should be done tomorrow night.

Lollapalooza day 2 commences soon. Lana Del Ray was lackluster last night, but Radiohead should make up for that tonight!

one for each socket..... I can't count the times I've had someone over to hear some tracks. With 2 sockets, I just break out my 2 SR-007's &/or SR-009's and we compare notes on what we heard - zimple...... The more I look at that pic, the more I seem to want one.......

I think it managed the choices amazingly well, because they felt more natural in their outcomes and not just like simply picking story branches. It helped get away from just trying to pick what you were "supposed" to and instead subtly tailoring the story around how you roleplayed Max.

I've finished Life is Strange... wow. It's been a long time since a game affected me this much.

The good thing ( IMO ) about having two Stax sockets like on the BHSE and the one John's recently posted, is if two wanted to listen at the same time it can obviously be done, however I have tried this with a 009 and 007, and both produced different volumes with the 009 sounding much louder.

Here is my Carbon build. The layout is a lot like the KGSShv Cube I made in 2014 although this is bigger and easier to assemble. I have dubbed it the “Chunky”. I have two versions, a black/silver and an all silver and am building two of each. The Chunky measures 340 wide X 310 deep x 138 high, plus feet and weighs about 10 kg. As I wish to concentrate on other projects I do not intend to make more amplifiers for other people. I am intending to do a KGBH for myself. I have enjoyed the challenge over the last few years and have also met some great fellow head-cases. The KGSShv/KGST/Carbon KG designs I have built have all worked as intended and been easy to set up and all have given great musical pleasure. This is a sign of a great designer and I would like to note again my gratitude for the great gift given to this hobby by Kevin and Birgir, Kerry, Joamat, Jim L and all the others for their contributions and inspiration.

I had to double check which thread I was in when I saw that picture. I've been playing through Life is Strange, currently through episode 4 of 5, and it's been a rollercoaster of emotions so far. I am anticipating a lot of ass-pulls in the final episode to resolve all the story threads, but I really do like the unique spin on a telltale-style game. It starts off like a mix of Twin Peaks and Donnie Darko, and just gets stranger from there. The first episode is free and the rest on sale right now, so it's risk-free to try it out.
