Heartfelt condolences. Vicki probably said it best. What a fabulous family. There's so much to be grateful for. I can't look at those pictures without tearing up.

I enjoy my 701s on a WA6SE, and my pair sounded nice on Vicki's SinglePower. But different folks mileage varies widely with these cans. Given the wrong circumstances, amp, cables, break in, and phase of the moon, they are capable of sounding pretty un-pretty.

I am listening to an oh-my-god-I've-owned-this-record-for-36-years Janis Ian album on one of the Regas, now sporting a GrooveTracer acrylic platter. Very nice. I was apprehensive about the platter, but it turns out to be all good - less noise, tighter, better extended at both ends, PRaTy, very musical. GrooveTracer is two for two for me now. I could kind of tell something good was gonna happen when I used the sticky roller thingie to clean up a record and it was pretty quiet. On the glass platter and felt mat, that gizmo sounds like you're ripping the disk in half.

Most interesting. These folks do spiffy casework for their pricepoints. Now we wait to hear how it performs.

Gruummphka! I just spilled my drink and uttered an inappropriate-for-workplace outburst. Wonderful! Tyll for President! I've not heard those headphones (and won't go out of my way to) but based on my previous impressions of Ultrasone's high end products I'm not shocked.

I'd love to to go to an RMAF, but those dates are terrible for me. I prolly won't make it this year, either. And I want real CanJam back. Whaaaaaaa!

In my experience, if the battery wasn't pulled nanoseconds after the dunking, the phone is toast. Hopefully, when you tell the Apple people what happened, they'll be so glad your son came out OK that they'll be nice to you.

Humblest apologies. It does seem in awfully fine condition. And I don't actually remember buying it. But I thought the records you gave me were all in the Ikea bin as opposed to the stack that leans on the speaker stand. ) (Being in the Ikea bin, for the benefit of anybody out there whose record collection is arranged in some sort of logical, linear order, is a good thing.) Which I somehow passed by when it first came out. On a lark, I grabbed a pristine copy for cheaps a while ago. What a nice album. ... and .. which I did buy when it came out. I've rediscovered it every few years since. (I can't quite condone the crop, but the Elliott Erwitt photo on the jacket rocks. If you ever get the chance to see that series in the silver gelatin flesh, it's worth the effort.)
