RIP someone or another
Woke up this morning to find my beloved cat Buggy had died during the night. She's been circling the drain for a couple of weeks so it wasn't a surprise but it still made me very, very sad. Now I'm wondering if burying her in a spot that I see every time I look out the window was such a great idea. It was her favorite spot in the back yard so I guess it was the right thing to do. RIP Buggy. I couldn't have asked for a better companion.

Catching up on episodes I missed. If you're a fan of silly guys in ridiculous situations, you could do a lot worse. I'm totally bummed that it wasn't picked up for another season but I'm sure these guys will show up. For now, there's NetFlix.

Friday Jules Bianchi passed away. Very, very sad that such a young talented guy should have to die when so many old fuck heads live on. The world that was important to him said goodbye; http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/motorsports-mourns-the-loss-of-formula-one-driver-jules-1718778239

Spent a little time with Frank's 845 amp/009 too. Sounds great. He said the 845 plates are running at 800v. I can't remember the driver tube but the inputs are 76(s). Dan over at Bottlehead has a new headphone amp that was designed for the K1K that uses a pair of 845(s) too. Very fashionable? I totally fell in love with Craig's Studio amp. Parallel 2A3(s) really made the HD800's sing.

I'm with Nate on this. Really enjoyed Suits for 2 seasons and lost interest. For legal shows, if any of you guys didn't watch Damages when it was airing, I loved that (on Netflix). Mr. Robot is looking like my fav summer show this year.

What are you EATING right now?
Well, I love oysters and the raw and Rockies I had were super tasty! Pretty decent Minion sauce for half shells. What I really dig is the setting. Sitting by the side of a windy road with the bay on the other side and the gulls yakking above. What an awesome spot to spend time with 10 or 20 of your favorite friends!

What are you Grilling now?

Agreed Mikey! Regarding Williams, just like my chess teacher used to say,.. "You have to win three times, the opening (start), the middle game and the ending." Now that they know they can get pole, they need to remember how to win the race. I don't think that should take very long.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Here's a good "returning stuff to HD story. A carpenter I worked with was at the local flea market and a guy was selling boxes of marble tiles. Some homeowner project gone wrong so he was selling them for half price. Al (the carpenter) bought them all and put them in his pickup. He drove them to the nearest HD and returned them for a full refund. No receipt, no HD sticker, just the bar code on the box.

Hey Haj, did you try to return the screen? I'm surprised at what Home Depot will take back. If you have the receipt, it's certainly worth a shot.

The analog thread.
I imagine that most of you guys got the same Acoustic Sounds email I did. It announced the purchase of Doug Sax's The Mastering Lab/Sheffield Labs by Chad Kassem. The email included a link to an excellent video.

Really enjoyed the first season. I was kinda skeptical at first but once they started fleshing out his character, I was hooked.

What are you listening to Part the Third
Stumbled across these videos and I really loved the sound. These are "live" studio recordings with minimal mixing/processing so the sound is dry (little reverb) and tight. This is how it sounds in a studio except in real life, there would be more isolated takes of individual instruments (depending on the producer/label). There's a bunch of these with great musicians. Check it out; http://studiojams.com/

RIP someone or another
RIP Ornette and Christopher. I was a big Hammer Films fan when I was young. It was too cool to see Christopher and Peter Cushing have their careers revived in the Star Wars/LOTR universes.
