  1. They just cancelled my town, I'll work from home tomorrow..... EDIT: Whoa, Dusty, just read your post....that's some fucked up weather!
  2. Thanks Bryan! The Peated was still very pricey, maybe someday but not right now........
  3. Alright, how the FUCK did I watch Creature Double Feature for YEARS and miss that awesome Gamera theme song?!
  4. I think it's a testament to how people feel about him as an actor, that has caused this discussion/debate. When I heard about it, my reaction was sorrow and some anger. Anger at drugs being the cause, and did it have to be that way.....anger at the loss/wasting of such a talent.....etc.
  5. Sorry to see this life gone.....way too much talent and future. Sorry for family especially.....
  6. I love the Talisker 18 too, even the 10 is pretty good. Just also put in an order for Hakushu 12 from my local guy.....the Peated version would be too pricey for now.....
  7. I enjoy the Hibiki, it was a nice surprise for not big expectations. I like the Yamazaki 12, too......just an easy sip......the Yamazaki 18 was a little sweeter as I remember, been a while; enjoyed that a lot for special drinking. I have seen the Hakushu, but not recently; I'll have to see if my local guy can get a bottle....any thoughts on the "Heavily Peated" Hakushu versus the regular 12?
  8. Wow, RIP to a great great man.....
  9. True, Dan. She doesn't call herself a "real" vegetarian, I'm sure there is a title for what she does (bacon included). Hope you fell better!
  10. I used to own the Ref 3A Royal Masters as well, they did very well with some Wright 2A3 mono's I used to own. I'd also recommend looking at Silverlines. The newest version of the SR-17 is much higher than you're looking to spend, but the previous rev's can be had for that amount or less, if you can find them used.....
  11. I work with a woman who is a bit geeky (she builds her own gaming PC's), and always thought she was a fairly strict vegetarian. No red meats at all, mostly fish and occasionally/rarely poultry. But she just admitted yesterday that she still eats bacon....not TOO often, but loves it. Also stated it as one of the major food groups. I like her more now. Me, today: Boston's Hunger Brunch this morning/afternoon, hanging a bit in town. Then tonight, Jonathan Edwards live. Not a bad day at all.
  12. Good luck, Jacob, hope you get some relief very soon!
  13. Happy Birthday Adrian!
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. It's amazing what adults do with/for children. Congrats on a major milestone Esme
  16. Previewing the new album Moon by Snowbird. Simon Raymonde from the Cocteau Twins and Stephanie Dosen. She sounds a LOT like the ethereal whispery version of Elizabeth Fraser..... So far, not a bad album.....sounds a fair bit like Cocteau Twins, which is not a bad thing for me. EDIT: the more I listen, the sillier this gets. Everything is about fields, forests, foxes, owls, bears.....it's getting a little repetitive......
  17. Very Happy Birthday!
  18. OK, I guess I now know where the term "spreading like wildfire" comes from..... Gotta think the wind helped, too, but damn!
  19. Was it this? http://comicsthatsaysomething.quora.com/A-Day-at-the-Park
  20. What about a USB -> SPDIF converter? I think several work in Linux.....
  21. ^^^ Like her a lot Stephen....one of my favorite songs is her cover of I Saw The Light......
  22. ^^^ Will also check that out, thanks Ian. Me: Angel Olsen - Burn Your Fire For No Witness. Capturing my ears quite well. Tough to describe, maybe Grunge-Country-Folk
  23. Happy Birthday! May it be filled with only enjoyable fluids!!
  24. I liked the Wadia PowerDAC that I had, similar type of unit. This seems to take it a step further with the DSD input, plus line in & out....
