I got a strange error trying to buy a ticket. I entered my first name "Marc" for the "username" and last name for the other field. Anyways, here's the error I got: This invoice has already been paid. For more information, please contact the merchant. Really? If so, cool!
  5. The guy was probably assigned this story way back when and just didn't do shit until the last second and had to whip something out in order to save face. FAIL indeed.
  6. I have two MDF shelves that came with it, and a maple slab that I recently posted for sale and swt61 bought (and hasn't picked up yet). It's black powdercoat with black shelves. I stuck a Nott table and a MPX3 on it at some point, it can easily handle 125# or so...
  7. You should compare the total series and total shunt value across each position and then convert into dB.
  8. I might have a wall mount for sale if you're interested. It's a double shelf Apollo stand.
  9. swt61: I was just kidding of course I actually think the Synergy might be a nice option. Looking into those more.
  10. So, looks like I won't get to a nice 80/20 based rack, as my wife as vetoed the aesthetic. She wants something totally closed (of course) and there's no way I can let that happen to do heat considerations. What we've compromised on, is something like this, in fact exactly like this would be great, but it needs to be able to house a 17" depth component... Any recommendations of things with a similar look? Otherwise, making something like this is just about as hard as lighting up a LED in a switch, right? (hint, hint, nudge, nudge)
  11. ignoring... I've just finished episode 1 of the current season and am thinking about going back and watching Life on Mars before continuing. I didn't know this was the last season though.
  12. have you guys tried the plastic sloping stands? Monkey said they sound better on the stands, I do believe him.
  13. where do you buy this "wonderful day"?
  14. reading that page gave me an idea.... Reks, can you sharpen lawn mower blades? 'cause that guy can... and he even makes knives.
  15. heh, the first time I read that I thought it said that the "case I got last week is waiting.... and I don't have the iPad yet" as in you need the iPad to start a a legal case
  16. Perhaps. However, since you can cancel the online order with a click of the button and don't even have to pick up the device once your in-store reservation e-mail comes, I'd just do both.
  17. The fastest way to get one is to do the in-store reservation / pickup thingy. Took 2 days for me upon signing up.

  19. I decided to pick up a Rega P3-24, the newest incarnation of a table I've owned 3 or 4 times already. My DIY project is languishing and I want to get back to the sweet, sweet music. I have some idea in my mind of what these sounded like, despite the rest of the gear chain changing a lot over this same time period. Anyways, we'll see how it sounds. I'll have a RB301 as well as my AT-1005mk2 arm and a couple Ortofon carts and my ZYX Bloom to play with. I'd like to find a small phono stage to play with, as my two box affair is quite large and my integrated only has a single pair of balanced inputs. I have an idea of two that consists of a JFET front-end ala the Xono with a opamp second gain stage (gasp) and a MOSFET output, similar to the balanced driver of the Xono. Small is the key here.
  20. It's literally two parts per channel. The Pass Xono definitely has one implemented. deepak: nope, I haven't had a chance to really compare any solid state to any tube design side by side. If I was considering a tube phono stage, I'd probably go with one of the new DIY designs, like "His Master's Noise" or old standby, the RTP3.
  21. I'd like to contribute, but can I request the #4 spot? It's my favorite number. K thx bye.
  22. I quite like the A2s. I have them in the bedroom and they do quite well in there. I have plans to replace them with something DIY though down the road...
  23. Are all 30 heatsinks taken? If not... Either way, I'd be up for stuffing one whenever you're ready.
