So would the sound still be directional, or are we heading into omnidirectional territory? It's late, so I'm having trouble thinking it through, the spherical driver would push it in the omnidirectional territory, but I don't know what the stacked diaphragms would do, counter it, promote it, or what? Is that related at all to their staggered signal delay technology? (I suspect not.) They were actually stacking drivers, like a pseudo-line-source? So it's a pseudo-line-source with a slight omnidirectional bent, like the Gallo Reference 3.x, except with an electrostatic basis?

I take it you are not familiar with any of the guitar players? Try picking the one that you're most familiar with, and playing that clip. Watch for example the Eric Clapton one. Okay, I don't know of any definitive list. I believe any of the early "DAD" DVDs from Chesky, Arts Music or Classic Records will qualify. I have an extra copy of this one if you want it (in fact, you'd be doing me a favor if you'd buy my copy [it's still sealed]): In a lot of cases, the same companies re-released titles as proper DVD-A's, and I don't know that in all cases, they retained the ability to play the 24/96 layer via DVD-V, and more importantly, via the digital output.

No guarantee -- it has whatever the DVD author gave it, and not only that, but if the author programmed the DVD not to give you access to the 24/96 track unless you had a DVD-A player, then that's the way it will work. Is there a specific DVD-A you had in mind? You can try asking me or anyone else here.

Yeah, it's a standard tactic -- the potential buyer tries to call you out with "what's the absolute lowest you'll accept?". I usually ignore those freaks, because I get enough other people making actual offers. You'd think that sort of tactic wouldn't work frequently enough to develop any sort of following, but it does. BTW, there's absolutely no reason to take abuse -- just ignore the assholes. Don't respond to them. And definitely put that one dude on ignore -- he needs to know that you're not going to respond. And if anyone posts anything in your thread, do not respond, simply report it to the moderators for deletion. There's a rule on head-fi where asking questions of the type that lead to even remotely hinting at lowering the value of your sale is not allowed. For "reason", say something like, "don't appreciate implicating the value of my headphones -- they are worth what the seller is willing to buy and the buyer is willing to sell them at". Next time: put in qualifications like "lowball offers and messages without actual offers will be cheerfully ignored". Unless of course you want to do your research first, and then list a price.

You should keep everything you have and buy more stuff. That way you are contributing to the economy as well.

Neither (well, technically it's digital) -- MIDI is a proprietary connection used for musical devices. It sends things like "note on at pitch F# on channel 10" and then "note off on channel 10" and so on -- not very useful for anything other than people like me (synthesists), pretty much.

The drivers contain most of the magic, I say keep them. That said, have you heard them in a really nice rig, yet, perhaps at a meet, or a nearby headfier or headcaser?
