  1. 13 Reasons Why (my sister did costuming)
  2. Happy birthday, cat whisperer! (party favour noise)
  3. Everyone does.
  4. Soen, Lykaia https://soen-sweden.bandcamp.com/album/lykaia RIYL: Katatonia since Tonight's Decision; recent (clean singing) Opeth, but would like to hear them more atmospheric gothic metal; the last Leprous album, The Congregation
  5. Happy birthday, Duggeh! (party favour noise)
  6. I'm a Win7/Win10 guy...mostly (really, a Linux guy who is circumstantially force to use Windows). I find Win10 perfectly tolerable once I shut off the default look&feel. I never got that with Win8, but then it was my understanding that the person responsible for that universally despised OS lost his job for that.
  7. Nick Prol & the Proletarians, Loon Attic https://proletarians.bandcamp.com/releases manic, calliope-esque prog heard the third track a while ago, and instantly fell in love
  8. Looks beautiful -- do you have any cut open shots? Even the mushrooms and onions look perfectly caramelized.
  9. Yup, that was the reason I went, to see opening new band, Nine Inch Nails, whose album, Pretty Hate Machine my sister had given me a tape of. I was watching Trent abuse the shit out of his then guitarist, pre-Filter Richard Patrick. He seemed to be alright with it at the time, but what did I know. The other side of that tape was The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, and I went on to see Ministry around that time, too. Another memorable concert, the tour that generated In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up...Live. Me, now: White Willow, Future Hopes live stream, dadgum album doesn't get released until Friday, so even though I pre-ordered it, I don't get my copy until Friday. Wonderful, so far.
  10. I still haven't gotten over my first (and last) J&MC concert (couldn't tell one song from the next, walked out after 30 minutes or so). (Which is funny, because now I would probably applaud that sort of thing as 'brave'.)
  11. No, that's the problem, once global warming goes beyond a certain point, there is even more moisture in the air ==> clouds, rain, etc. Perhaps he will just power through, and barbecue anyway, even in the rain, as is the British way.
  12. Are you using specialty containers, or what? I got some home fermenting kits, but I haven't started using them yet, really looking forward to doing my own pickling and whatnot.
  13. Yeah, I heard about that the other day, I'm at a complete loss for words.
  14. Harris Teeter Sushi -- I was going to cook all afternoon, and I just woke up at about 10:19. at self -- I'm not even sure why I passed out, other than I probably had a sleep debt, combined with a sugar crash from lunch (P.F. Chang's Singapore Chicken with brown rice -- the rice?) but I didn't feel tired at all. So great, now my hours are inverted again.
  15. Starts out really great old school soul, r&b, poprock...
  16. ...?
  17. Yeah, I think it's the chef not the tools, I doubt mine would turn out anywhere near as perfect.
  18. That reminds me, I should probably clean out my fridge, before it starts looking like a Brothers Quay film.
  19. Well, yeah, they're not like the American people -- when he called the windfarm nearby ugly, he lost any interest they may have had in cooperating. "Poor guy golf course deal. It's dead, it just don't know it yet."
  20. (The hour version -- I'm getting the 8 hour version, based on the strength of this.) Ambient classical/slightly experimental/minimalism Definitely work music
  21. Sweet!
