  1. You make it sound so reasonable, but I'm pretty sure that's a left hand holding a skull in a drum major's cap...and why the jester's cap...so many questions...
  2. I don't know what's happening in this pic:
  3. Yeah, but I don't, and I'm pretty sure they've done the same thing to me. (I get weird network problems on several of my machines, and the symptoms sound familiar.) Heck, I don't even have a bit-torrent client. They few times I've used it, I've immediately uninstalled it afterwards.
  4. Quickly got a little too poppy for my tastes, but that may have just been the mood I was in. (I have listened to much poppier -- Zoot Woman, Snow Patrol, etc.)
  5. Because they're fucking Comcast -- they're fucking retarded.
  6. I made some green curry the other day, and it's just a tad too hot for me (adding my favourite Huy Fong Sambal Oelek actually tasted cool in comparison), so I added a can of green pea soup and a can of coconut milk, and now I want to fill it out with vegetables, but I don't want to take the time to salt some eggplant (I've already added some water chestnuts and bamboo shoots) -- suggestions? Green beans? Okra? Those little mushrooms and baby corn?
  7. I'm only several seconds in and I already love it.
  8. It's still April 1st somewhere out there to the West, innit?
  9. From my Fasciabook: "Musicians! My brain is always working, gears always turning, churning, always thinking about things. In the spirit of generosity, I thought I'd give this particular idea away -- the name of your next project: Silo Halo. Think about it, it's just vague enough not to carry any baggage, but just abstractly evocative enough that you can use it anywhere from post-rock to jazz to fusion to synthpop to industrial and beyond... I even sketched up a quick logo for it: You're welcome." Unfortunately, a group already took that name, and they're even kind of local (looked up after the fact), so I took it down.
  10. Moar Wretched
  11. CERN corroborates 'The Force'
  12. No, they had a couple (The Incident, Deadwing, In Absentia), but they're missing my favourites (Fear of a Blank Planet, Sky Moves Sideways, Stupid Dream, etc.). Ah, looks like they added one(1) Pineapple Thief album.
  13. Tidal Exclusives
  14. I've been listening to Redshift all day -- great old-school Tangerine Dream electronica with lots of mellotron. This stuff is sublime.
  15. Happy birthday, Doug, hope it's better than yesterday! (party favour noise)
  16. Where the hell do you live, Siberia? It's beautiful down here (other than I don't know whether to keep the air on "cool" or "heat" indoors).
  17. I was checking myself out at Wegmans (waits for jokes, pauses, continues), and four items from the end, the machine just stopped scanning. You know the red laser pattern that flashes, it didn't even flash any more. So I notified the person attending the self-checkout-area, and explained what had happened, and she notified someone else, and the first one started explaining what happened to the second one incorrectly, so I interrupted and explained what happened correctly, and when I was done, they did some tests (trans: they tried to scan my items themselves), and while they were doing that, I suggested, "maybe it ran out of photons". They laughed. So I went to another register to finish checking out (they had a professional do it this time), and after I was done, on my way out the store, I pass by the broken stall, which they appear to be disassembling, and I ask, "going to refill it?" I crack me up.
  18. That's what I was thinking...how'd you get them to stop? I just reset my router. (You know that thing where you can call their number and have them send a signal to reset your router? It takes several minutes to boot back up and have all the machines get their IP addresses again. Also: 12 hard drives?!?!? Great googly moogly, that's a lot of porn.
  19. Who is this 'duggeh' of whom you speak? Happy birthday, anyway, whoever you are.
  20. I wonder if that's used with Daft Punk's permission...
  21. I feel like it's an Oceansize kind of day. Tidal provides Effloresce, Music for Nurses, Everyone into Position, Home & Minor, and Self-Preserved While the Bodies Float Up.
  22. The Mytek is (by all reports that I care about) a very nice DAC. Isn't it a studio standard? (wanders off, googles) First off, I still hate that style of website. Can't fucking search the page until you get it to load. But...oh my, they just added a DSD option to their top-tier ADC...
  23. IIRC, Ein Deutsches Album sounds completely different, I don't know if they completely re-recorded it or mixed it differently, or what.
