Actually, the kid responded very well, and admittedly full responsibility for the confusion, and promised to refund all my money if it didn't show up, and even went so far as to say that it was alright that I got angry because it was as a result of her confusion. Which already bodes well, because a real scammer wouldn't have bothered responding, right? RIGHT?!?

Good luck with Gryphon.

While looking for her version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You (I Love You Baby)", I stumbled across this: You just don't get her balls out punk influence if all you ever listen to is the perfect Kalk Samen Kuri no Hana. Also, still watching Steins;gate -- favourite recent discovery anime -- you hear that Stephen? You need to check this out.

I've convinced myself that I've been scammed on eBay. ( a ) I didn't notice the person had zero feedback; ( b ) they said they shipped it UPS, then backtracked and said they shipped it USPS when I called them on it (that's what the listing said); ( c ) when I asked them for a tracking number, they responded with, "I apologize, I know this must be very frustrating (smiley face)", "Wait, let me look." and "my father threw it out". Oh, and ( d ) price was too good to be true. Oh yay, I'm dealing with a kid. Hopefully it still shows up.

Took Skye to the vet today -- she was getting fatter, I thought it might be worms or something. Nope, she's just getting fatter -- she stopped growing a couple months ago, and the vet explained that it's often the cats don't get used to their new metabolism right away. However, we need to fix this now, because if it goes on for a couple years, she could get diabetes, so I'm going to have to get one of them wonderbowls for Bobby (he's at a good weight and looking pretty good now, actually).

Okay, download one, post the other to Facebook...download one, post the other to Facebook...DON'T SCREW THEM UP! -
Seconded. Also the "subscribe to your newsletter" comment.

Bandcamp I mean, just an example: 8.19 Me, personally, I'm getting everything he released, the only question is whether to get in CD form what I can or not (some are sold out). Also: new Metric!

Yeah. Do they have bunks in the future? Because I'll be in mine. -
You make that sound like a bad thing. Also: fuck off. Cheers!

As they did last year, they're allowing you to download the whole "album" -- if I read it correctly, until January 6th. Noice!

Matt Stevens -- unholy carp -- proggers, descend on this! Instrumental, well produced, and...lossless until the 31st. Due to VAT restrictions, he's dropping bandcamp before the 1st. I'm probably getting everything. It's just superb production, fantastic music-writing, and virtuoistic musicianship.

I'm glad your sense of humour is intact. -
Lollers. I wrap like a bachelor -- don't ask anything fancy of me, but if you need something square or rectangular wrapped, I'm your man.

Either that or they have him on just the right amount of pain medication. (Sorry, Larry, not making fun, you do sound like you're holding up well, and whether that's from better living through chemistry, or because you are just plain holding up well, who cares? I'm glad you're glad to be alive.) -
CSC is giving me a vote on where they contribute their money this year, and all the others are children based, which doesn't interest me, so it's down to these two. Does anyone know anything about either of them? No need to "lmgtfy", iwgtfm, tyvm. Sometimes someone has information or strong feelings one way or the other.

Because we always get an influx of newbs, trolls, and thread necromancers...and it is rarely during these influxes (infli?) that we get the good ones... (Apologies if you're the exception.)

That's easily solved -- never buy anything. No, seriously, there's something called "buyer's remorse", and there are a couple things that exacerbate it -- the biggest one is continuing to shop for the product after you've already purchased it. I mean, we even have terms for this -- audiophile nervosa, upgradeitis, etc. The more you spend on something -- the more you push yourself to reach above what is financially reasonable for you -- the more likely you are to feel this way afterwards. It's just like computers or anything else -- get the best that you can afford (that matches your requirements) that is available on the market. It also sounds to me you bought them based on the opinions of others, or was it based entirely on brand reputation? That's always a mistake. I realize there is no other way to audition customs but that's one reason I don't own any customs -- there's no way around it. I think this -- combined with the above -- is the problem in the nutshell. Kudos for recognizing it.

Is head-fi down again?

Uh...no, you were cranky from the get-go. If you honestly believe that didn't color your interactions with everyone in this thread, then...well, good luck with that.

Tidal == good customer service. I complained on Facebook about them posting country music after the album i was listening to finished, and they helped me figure out that apparently I had accidentally hit their country playlist on the way out the previous time, and how to clean it up. This, despite how rude I had become.
