  1. Curry chicken from Tony Cheng's -- excellent earlier: Kung Pao chicken from Tony Cheng's -- meh
  2. Yeah, more wishes in your and her general direction.
  3. Thinking "deft and steady fingers" thoughts your way!
  4. What is that thing in the top photograph in the middle?[/snark]
  5. Wow. Yeezh. I have no words. What everyone else has said -- wishing positive thoughts in your general direction, glad it wasn't worse/fatal.
  6. I have lots of corks.

    Cable Cutters

Yeah, I cut cable a couple months ago, and had a cable device for months before that that I never plugged in. Can't get BBC America (for Doctor Who) without buying one of the super deluxe packages (really? just for one channel? I think not), but then I realized it was cheaper just to get the one or two shows I want via Amazon Prime (that's how I watched Doctor Who this season, it's probably how I'll watch Game of Thrones when it comes back). I think ESPN is talking about a subscription service, you should look into how far off that is in the future. HBO is, too, but I'm only interested in one show there...
  8. So the ball of cheese is already made, but you're doing what to it? Marinating it or something? I am not knowing this. I want to try doing this, if it's pretty easy.
  9. Lollers @ Windows apologists
  10. It's fine. Every write (erase counts as a write) takes a little bit of life off the SSD, but you've only added one or two writes to it, out of thousands.
  11. Your not-so-daily Linn's 24 Bits of Xmas bump...
  12. I think we can handle a little Doppler shift.
  13. Who is doing the shipping, Jack? If it's UPS, if it's a residence, they don't even try until after 5 or 6. Car not big enough -- that's why I drive a hatchback there's no such thing as "not big enough", short of preassembled shelving and mattresses.
  14. You grill at work? I bet your vegetarian coworkers hate you.
  15. ^^ Great, thanks, now the thought, "I wonder if there's a female cosplay krampus" has crossed my mind, and of course there is, and I'm trying to resist the urge to look it up.
  16. I'm in love with this new site called progstreaming -- lots of great stuff, about 50% are "yes", 25% are "maybe", and only about 25% are "pass". And that last is largely because of specific things, like too audible a hippie influence or whatever.
  17. Let's wait 'til the end then sort it out.
  18. Bump. (Yes, I missed several days. Sorry. Hopefully they'll do like last year and give you a second chance on the last day.)
  19. Yeah, that's why I asked first. No worries.
  20. Well, then hubby can pay for it (at a friendly discount, of course). I am serious, I have too much stuff.
  21. Sure, you serious? I do owe you. I looked up the two I have, and they're the SB12-NSD and the SB1000. I'm pretty sure I ordered the SB12-NSD in glossy to match the Quad 12Ls, so I'm keeping that one, but I got the SB1000 in flat to match the Pioneers, and I sold the towers to a friend because I have too many speakers (in my defense, we unboxed them while I was there, but he still hasn't connected them up -- that was several months ago...and yes, he knew that I had them for over a year, unboxed, before that). You are, of course, welcome to it. Re: "bad Dusty!" -- seriously! WTF is wrong with me? Oh yeah, I know -- shopaholic.
  22. Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
  23. Correct, but it's also more efficient, which is why they're still popular. Shelly, I am ashamed to admit that I have ...uh... two of their sealed subs (don't even know which two -- SB-1000 and SB-2000, I think), but haven't unpacked nor heard either of them.
  24. Now that is one unboxing video I'd like to see.
  25. I really doubt they're bad. I've heard zero about them -- either way. I suspect your #2 suspicion is correct.
