  1. I was talking about this story.
  2. I think iOS would be a better comparison. It's a phone.
  3. You win, because you make no sense, and they only found 3 of the bodies.
  4. Yeah, but on an i5 with 8G it's fine, so maybe it's the installation. Or maybe it's operator snobbery error snobbery. If you read it more carefully, they are also trying to make it a desktop, so they're not going to skimp on the CPU. Sounds like they're also going to install Ubuntu mobile, not standard desktop Ubuntu.
  5. Actually, acting as an antenna sounds like a more likely scenario. Perhaps?
  6. Yes, yes it is. I do often get good advice from Spotify.
  7. I don't think sausage has to be by definition pork. Now you're making shit up. I let the martini thing go, because...well, you were right. But a quick survey of the definition of the word sausage only requires that it be "meat" of some sort.
  8. They lost me at 720p, but maybe they won't lose you. Too much dosh for me as well, so I may have been looking for a way out. US$600 today only until 1600 BST, which I don't even know what that means, it may have already passed for all I know. IndieGogo link
  9. Yeah, that's the big mystery, innit? I have one friend who suspects drugs were involved. But I don't think so. Call the FCC on the gospel station, I bet they're non-compliant. EDIT: Wait, the headphone cable? Post-amplification?
  10. Yellow & Green was one of the better albums from last year. I understand that "sucked in and wouldn't let leave" comment -- that's exactly what that record did for me -- I just kept wanting to go back and listen to it. On an unrelated note, I might have to look up some more Whitehorse, this is superb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALjg_NYDByo
  11. Baroness, Live at Maida Vale
  12. One of a kind AKG 3D microphone with 4 membranes arranged in a tetrahedron: I don't think that's a plumb line, I think that's an omnidirectional reflective surface that's part of the design.
  13. ...and then things got weird...
  14. Yeah, I use a saline flush, but sometimes my glands go into overdrive and I can't flush frequently enough. And I congest weird--it tends to stay in rather than run out, so now I'm fighting a perpetual infection. I was eating wasabi peas earlier and I'm about to eat basil chicken. 15. I blew my nose. Yes, I blew my nose ALL. Fucking. Day. I blew my nose so much, I actually need to rehydrate. I hate my fucking sinuses.
  16. They still haven't outdone "The Art of Dying", though, in my book. Now playing.
  17. Gojira, L'Enfant Sauvage -- what is French for "metal which is brutal and pummeling and heavy"? Gojira is.
  18. Les Discrets, Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées and Ariettes oubliées... -- gloomy shoegazer metal with clean French vocals -- because I'm in such a good mood (it rained here recently)
  19. Went to Tropical Smoothie Cafe, had a nice fruit smoothie -- lot better than Bluberi's, I suspect less sugar water. They appear to have recently introduced a kale lemonade smoothie, which I will try next time (wanted to try with something safe and known first).
  20. Sometimes spelled "Ka-Prao" and variations. It's basically Thai basil -- in fact, most restaurants, when you order one or the other, you'll get the same thing. But I've been to at least one restaurant that prepared them differently (mostly in the mincing of the chicken). There's no bacon involved, so I wouldn't expect you to remember all that.

  22. I just watched that whole thing.
  23. Stylin' ride, indeed! 100mpg ain't shabby at all. Plus, it's light black. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't've been able to hold it for that long. ba-dum-chik
  24. You really think he'd volunteer?
  25. If you're still running a hard drive, SSD's run much cooler. That said, I use this X-shaped one on my Sony Vaio at home: I forget why, probably just because it looked cool and didn't do any worse than any of the others I could find based on a quick survey of amazon ratings while standing in a MicroCenter. The little nubs bother me, though -- I would have thought that you'd want full contact, rather than spacers.
