Simple syrup I believe -- but definitely nothing carbonated.

Nope -- explicitly no cola. I don't know how they got the color that they got, I want to say dark rum. But yes to everything else, that sounds correct -- basically, one of everything behind the bar. Strong and trashy. I distinctly remember describing it as a "time bomb" -- you only needed one or two to keep a buzz going over the course of the night. Of course, I was in my 20's at the time.

Yeah, it's amazing. Completely under-rated show. Especially the first couple of episodes. Pay attention to what song is playing in the background, fucking brilliant. I love it when the actor won't answer the question, "is it time?" Also love the scene where he thinks he's a lobster. Also love the out of body experience one. It kind of fizzles at the end -- doesn't end as strongly as it starts -- but it's still worth watching all the way through.

A mission I wish to confer upon you fine mixologists: Long Island Ice Tea (or variant) made purely out of 7 liquors -- no "coke" or anything for color. My google-fu is failing me. Feel free to consult with your favorite bartender the next time you're in an actual bar. It'd probably have to be an older one, because right around the time I started drinking them ('81 or so?) is when they felt they had to start doctoring them so that they weren't pure alcohol.
