Because the lost interest is insignificant compared to the inconvenience of having to come up with money at the end of the year if something happens during the year to change my tax burden.

I flew a LOT, and all my problems were a direct result of chicago in the winter and dallas in the summer.

That's a different problem. I've had to sleep in the Chicago airport twice and Newark once because a flight from Chicago made me miss a flight another time.

I learned that rule the hard way.

My #1 rule of winter airline travel is NEVER schedule a connecting flight through chicago. At least it's extremely likely the flight departing chicago is also delayed, as every flight in chicago in winter is delayed.

And then he rode off into heaven, never to be heard from again...
