Your dollar definitely impacts what products are available. But the question is whether it impacts the bigger picture. I think the issue of organic foods is a complicated one. Do pesticides really make things worse, for example. Would the world be a better place if we switched to all organic farming? What if we went completely away from modern fertilizers. I think the largest difference would be the amount of land that would have to be devoted to farming would go WAY up, and could result in a massive famine.

I think the problem is the iphone makes things enough easier that seemingly simple things can easily overwhelm network capacity. It's a giant pain in the ass to send picture messages on most phones. On the iphone, even a drunk lawyer could do it.

I'd hope the d10 is a LOT better than the pico using an optical input, as the pico doesn't make noise when using an optical input. That said, I haven't heard the D10, and have heard the pico. The pico dac is an amazing little source, and I'd recommend it whole heartedly to someone who needs a small usb dac. That's what it is, and it's really very good at it. If you need somethign to be an optical or coax dac, or something to be a preamp or headphone amp, it's not the right device. If you don't need anything but a usb dac, you'll be really hard pressed to beat it for the price, or a lot higher.

I agree with you. Eating organic and riding a bike are great for how you feel about yourself, but the impact they make is miniscule. They help assuage the guilt some people feel for living a comfortable life in a world that's filled with suffering. I don't think that buying organic is more likely to cause malaria to increase worldwide, of course. That would be hyperbole on a par with the idea that driving a prius is going to change the climate.

What kind of router are you trying to connect to, and what else is using it? I haven't ever really had problems with my macs connecting to wireless networks.
