  1. Happy Birthday, Colin!
  2. This x^600.
  3. Happy Birthday, Steve!!
  4. Nice, Dan!
  5. I'm 95% done, just have to do state taxes. I'm on the plus side of the equation but not by much, the consequence of too much OTl
  6. Ah crap, I didn't realize that Justified had started back up. Frack, add that to the list that I need to catch up on too. I was watching Scorpion but I'm probably giving it up. It just hasn't lived up to what it could have been.
  7. Happy birthday!
  8. Happy birthday!
  9. This!
  10. You and I share shockingly similar taste in TV based on this paragraph.
  11. Glad to hear that you made it through ok, Jeff. I assume that VA is shut down for a period of days given the heavy snow?
  12. Pardon the screen (I'm not going outside right now) but the deck was pretty clean before this storm.
  13. ^^ I keep meaning to give it a shot but I'm so far behind on the few shows that I already (try) to watch.
  14. They've had a few D750s go through as well... pretty tempting.
  15. Yeah, we got a foot or more down here too but it looks like it's starting to clear so I'm hopeful the worst is over for this round. Sadly, no thunder snow.
  16. Tomorrow morning's forecast. It started snowing about an hour ago but isn't supposed to really kick in until after midnight.
  17. I always lusted after the single-sided swing arm of the ST.
  18. Happy birthday!
  19. I'm going to try some time-lapse photography this go 'round for posterity. It may be hard to tell if all that happens is 18" of snow gets piled on 5' of existing snow. The other joy-joy portion of this storm is going to be the wind - 50-70mph gusts with hurricane force winds and 20'+ waves just offshore. Hang on to your butts! The coast of MA may be well and truly effed.
  20. At least I'm only in the 12-18" band.
  21. Boston is a train wreck, no pun intended. The city received a waiver that allows them to dump the snow directly into the harbor which will help somewhat. The school system is reeling from all this weather and there's talk (in Boston) of cancelling April vacation in order to get in a full year without having to go to school in July, which they can't do anyway because of teacher/union contract issues. I wouldn't be surprised if the state gets pressured into waiving the mandatory 180 school year. They've already had 8 snow days assuming they get back to school tomorrow.
  22. In other news there is another storm headed our way Thursday.
  23. ^^ Jebus... Me: on Saturday my friend's and I visited a distillery in Denver. It was good. I'd encourage all of you to track down a bottle of Stranahan's. It should be available in most major markets although they had to pull distribution back somewhat recently but have plans in the works to support nationwide in the next few years.
  24. Shelly, Sadly, you're likely to find that just getting someone out to look at it will require a substantial investment. When our 4 year old washer bit the dust last year we were quoted $800 to fix it and the guy knew exactly what it was over the phone. Granted, it was much more of a catastrophic failure than yours but modern stuff isn't designed to be fixed, sadly. Unfortunately the replacement has not been great and has a nasty habit of leaving lint on my wife's black pants and shirts. I haven't found a solution to that one yet but in the interest of marital harmony I don't see this current unit lasting all that long either...
  25. Thankfully the storm appears to be tracking a bit south of us (bad for Haj, sorry man) but we're still on track to get 12"+ by tomorrow night. School is cancelled for Maura and the kids. Me, not so much.
