  1. It depends on the problem and the type of surgery. If your hearing loss is permanent and stable an equalized response earphone could be of some help, although you must be careful on how much gain you apply to some frequencies because you might be risking making your hearing loss worse.
  2. Happiest Birthday, Mike!!!
  3. Thanks. I guess it's mostly a lie. I'm rather sure Spain didn't grow more than France.
  4. Pedro Iturralde Quartet - Featuring Hampton Hawes If you feel curious about how good was Iturralde's reed playing
  5. Happy Birthday my icelandic friend. I wish you have a great one Stay away from that dangerous Brennivin of yours

Yes they care for how they sound and spend crazy amounts of money, time and effort to find theirs, but that sound is nothing a jazz, acoustic, or classical guitar player would call "tone"

I had watched that documentary a few days ago, it's awesome. No idea about the newly made ones, perhaps Birgir or Kevin looking at the circuit could say how it's working. If they want to keep that unique tone they shouldn't be using NFB. I haven't tried those many guitars in my life, but when you play one that feels good and seems easier to play than others, you immediately know it. That's a good keeper, which doesn't mean you can't try others. They aren't wives. I've always played concert and acoustic guitars, I've owned an electric one for the first time since November last year. It's the one I feel more comfortable playing, but I still remember how good and easy was the Martin 000-28 EC that I once played and never dared to buy. I don't think I'd be in the market for another guitar until I really feel I'd need another one for my knowledge and technique really benefiting from it. I feel far from that.

Nice playing. I think the point of my teacher is for the quality of the deep bass notes from a 7 or 8 strings guitar, more than for it not being useful. You cannot make it as large and long neck as required if you still want to keep the high notes tone good, so you have low notes, but not really good sounding. He plays mostly jazz so the metal point--which I find fitting a different category since they don't care that much for tone quality--isn't applying to him. To me it's hard enough playing a 6 string, so no way I'd learn with more strings
  10. Happy Birthday, Greg!!!!
  11. Yup, Amar, but knowing for sure if the guy owns that very pair of 007, would lead us to him and eventually getting the authorities to give him some hard time. No capital punishment, but a good scaring act maybe.

My teacher seemed quite eskeptic on those frets too, he doesn't even see the point on 7 string guitars too. You play with a bassist most of the times for some reason.

I guess it's all a matter of precision, but the thicker-longer argument makes sense. The playing advantage is harder to see to me, probably because I'm not advanced anything

What's the advantage/point of those fanned frets?

  18. It's possible that the guy is using them to close a real legitimate sale to a third party, so he gets rid of the system. If that set had the same serial number, it'd be a way to find the real identity of this crook. Since the serial number is very important for some fans, asking about it to the shop it wouldn't be weird at all
  19. My friend has spotted this Stax set at an audio shop in UK http://www.guildfordaudio.co.uk/store/itemdetails.php?category=Turntables&section=Categories&cattitle=Used Items&page=used&recordid=2731 The kit is suspiciously similar to the one in the scam, and the picture from this ad has a date (in the EXIF) from 2016:06:07. Do you think it's possible there's a connection between the shop and the scammer? Amar, if you think it's possible to report this all together to the British authorities, please get in touch. EBay started an incidence but can do nothing for being the deal closed outside their system. Here's a pic where the serial number can be clearly seen. Maybe one of the UK guys can phone to that shop and learn about the kit for sale there.
  20. This is the gas Bill https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3XeBPb_UFU0Q1JhUXUzZUlCWjJhZE9YejlIcEtmdG51Y2Q0 His Passport The data he provided to confirm his banking info, address, and his and his wife's identities Even his phone number: 0044 7514322529 They had a chat over the phone, the guy was extremely kind and convincing. He must be an artist and has probably stolen a few identities, none of the ones we've shared matches. I wonder if these are members of the same clan stealing audio gear at some show in the US a couple of years ago.
  21. Here's the message the scammer sent to Nando (Fernando) Below I'm attaching the video he made to prove the headphones/amp are working. His voice can be heard. Oops, the .mov format is not allowed. I'll leave a link to Google Drive. First time I'm using it https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3XeBPb_UFU0WFJESGZ0YUR4ZDN5Q2FnM1ZJMkxhQkJ5MkNB As soon as Nando sends me pics from a gas service receipt he sent to prove his name and address and other pics, I'll be sharing them here.
