Actually, I think their strategy is that if you charge enough people will think they sound good or at least delude themselves into thinking they sound good to justify the price they paid.

Maybe they'll make cables next.

I predict Grado will collaborate with RuPaul's Drag Race, and develop an IEM that doubles as glamor earrings. 

I have a hard time believing that Grado doesn't have a marketing rep who's going, "ok, how do we appeal to younger generations? Weed?"

"Pokemon?"

"___ you absolute genius!"

When you don't have a good product and apparently can't build one, marketing gimmicks are the way to go.

 

If you had asked me 15-20 years ago would Grado have survived to still remain a going-concern today I'd have said "no, no chance."

Here we are in AD 2021 and they are selling pokemon headphones.
