LOVED this.

As someone the same age and in the same stage of my professional life as the three main characters this hit uncomfortably close to home.

The Diplomat (season 3)

Escape from a world of improbable geopolitics where "The  President is about to do something apocalyptically dumb" to this fictional reality of improbable geopolitics where "The  President is about to do something apocalyptically dumb"

Anglo American hi jinks with smart writing, an exceptional cast and great locations.

But don't take my word for it.

The Diplomat season three review – Keri Russell’s nail-biting political thriller is a ludicrous treat | Television | The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/oct/16/the-diplomat-season-three-review-netflix-thriller-keri-russells

^ I need to get back to watching that. Not sure I watched the whole 1st season yet.

If you're like me and love nearly everything about it, except the whiplash relationship at its core (and echoed usually a scene or two later with the other couple), it does feel an awful lot about relationships. 😆 If you happened to have just finished The Dollop podcasts on Bill Clinton, well, even more so...

Finished it last night.  Pretty good.

As Kim Kardashian’s All’s Fair sets a new low for TV, we revisit every single thing our critics have mercilessly panned. Brace yourself for the Mount Rushmore of rubbish! The Guardian has only ever published 15 zero-star reviews. Here they all are...

The Greasy Strangler's reputation keeps growing!

Abbott Elementary -  I know I'm very late to the game on this, but it's now my go-to for a quick, humorous palate cleanse after some other intense watching elsewhere. Quinta B makes a quality comedy show. Eps are easy watches, and the principle is a special kind of hoot.

Have you tried English Teacher yet?

Two episodes are out for Vince Gilligan‘s Pluribus (Apple TV) and they set up a likely very fun season.

The Bleak Shop of Old Stuff (2011):

Featuring some strangely familiar old faces...

Being Human (2008)

The BBC version, not the American one

I discovered a 'new to me' YouTube channel. It's from across the pond, and like all things British, has a very British sensibility. Check out...

Jury is still out on Pluribus for me. I trust Vince, so I’ll stick with it, but outside of that first episode it hasn’t really captured my interest… at least not yet.

First part of the final Stranger Things season leaves me likewise cold. I feel like maybe I should have rewatched things to get caught up again? I feel lost and disengaged.

Loot... It's such a funny show. Like Arrested Development level. So good.

For what it's worth jury still out here too and much of that depends, of course, on what the eventual payoff is. I probably have a different relationship to sci-fi, and first episode isn't my favorite, but some of the theories out there* about what the show is truly about, takes me back all the way to weekly discussions during Twin Peaks' initial run (which may have never been resolved). Certainly feels like what Severance seemed to be for others and wasn't for me. A lot of this is trust, as you implied, with Vince.

One of the theories, unlikely, but interestingly, is it's about individual (warts & all) love versus universal love.

Another is that there are not only two teams in play.

I came away believing that he got off easy. This guy should never see the light of day.

I binged it in a couple of days. Some things are aesthetically Gilligan but overall I found it slow. Like the whole season could have fit a couple of episodes.
