I think 'almost always' is overstating things, but at least you explained the appeal -- gambling!

I've never gotten a bag of crap that wasn't at least nominally worth significantly more than the contents.

Well they're definitely not moving now. If someone is in the market, they should point out to the seller that that's what Koss is selling them for right now for new, warranty, etc. At worst, you've let him know how steep his competition is, and he can take them off the market until later.
