July 23, 201115 yr comment_460052 The upcoming Canon EVIL may have the same sized senor. I guess they don't want EVIL to lower sales of traditional DSLR. I heard that somewhere as well. It makes sense, smaller the sensor, smaller the lenses can be and size/weight has been one of the big selling point for EVIL cameras. They could go with APS-C sensor, but as you said, that'll eat into the sales of their DSLR and they won't be able to make the lenses all that much smaller due to sensor size (see NEX series). And there's a snowball's chance in hell they'll get into Four Thirds/MFT system. Report

July 25, 201115 yr comment_460431 This is both awesome and hilarious. I don't know, I think he should've gone for the compact prime instead. I saw one mounted on a 5D2 at the photo show and it looked pretty funny. Report

July 25, 201115 yr comment_460484 Nice pics Jeff. Are those from Vail? Steamboat Springs actually. Some iPhone shots from today's 4-wheeler run to the peak. and one of my trusty Suunto after a filthy day on the mountain. Report
July 25, 201115 yr Author comment_460492 aerius is trolling. The compact prime is product meant for the motion picture industry, that they adapted to fit Canon (and Nikon) DSLRs. It sits somewhere between the novelty/collector's toy of a Noctilux (as ) and an esoteric professional tool. It's rated in transmission stops and marked in feet for a focus puller. It's main claim to fame is that it has full frame coverage, so it can be used to shoot video with a 5DII. TBH, that is its intended market: professional production companies who are shooting a scene (or a feature) with the 5DII. Report
July 25, 201115 yr comment_460493 Thanks for the clarification. I can imagine most hobbyists aren't really buying those lenses like pretzels (or churros, as we say here), though it's interesting knowing the perfection and features of the lens. Really impressive. Report

July 27, 201115 yr comment_460777 I've (along with few others here) pretty much stopped using tapatalk once HC moved to the current forum software. Too buggy/unpredictable and mobile theme for the site is not too shabby. Edited July 27, 201115 yr by Salt Peanuts Report
