Robin Stine - Daydream

A jazz/blues album worth checking out

One of my favorite ambient dub albums, even after 15 years. Mat Jarvis's ethereal analogue string patches and minimalist portamento melodies are the stuff of legend. What I'm realizing now, with the advantage of a decade and a half of reflection, is that the song structure of the more beat-oriented tracks is essentially oldskool UK rave, slowed down and spaced out to Biosphere-like levels.

Again. Kinda surprised to not see her pop up here more often among our female-fronted metal crowd. She's not metal, but she's dark as hell and can really rock out.

That's a killer album.

I wasn't happy when I had to stop it half way through and go to a seminar.

Two NPR desk top concerts. At least Brooklyn Fire was interesting.

Moved on to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.

Listening to this through my new Modwright preamp which just arrived today :)
