My guess is probably around ~$3000, considering how much the current lineup costs outside of US.

I don't think that much. If the GS1000 are selling for about 1000-1200 euros (975 at an online shop in Spain), I guess the PS1000 will be at 1600-1800 euros, possibly less once the novelty calms down.

Are they available for purchase and prompt delivery yet in the US?

The (supposed) official release date is March 1st. I just checked TTVJ site, but there was no mention of it there yet.

I'm not just saying the PS/GS1000 and the HD800, but some of the newer Audio Technicas, the JVC wooden headphones look pretty ghastly, and the list probably goes on. Not that it matters when compared to the actual sound, and not like I'm qualified to judge, as an owner of a Float.

Agreed, I wish they'd have kept the PS-1 body. Like some people mentioned, the problem with Grado is in the details. On the PS-1000, the plastic rods kills the quality feeling of the whole design IMO. Of course, if it sounds good, nobody will talk about that, but I have to admit I'm a sucker for good-looking audio gear and it's not like Grado aren't capable of producing something beautiful, they're the ones who made the HP1000 series.

That wasn't the same grado, and the hp1000 almost put grado out of business.

Well, crazy as it sounds, I think they will raise its value. Now it's clear that there will not be another PS1, at least not in the next years. John seems to be more interested in the GS1000 school of sound.

I think EU price would be +/- EUR 1750, doubt they will sell bunch of them up here in Holland.

Actually I am a bit worry about their build quality as well, cos for such metal housing they schould re-design the hold part of the headband to.

Judging from some pictures, seems I actually have the newer style SR225 with the beveled edge housing. I was hesitating to take it out of the box since it was signed by Joe. Should I do it and post some pictures?

BTW, the box it came in is the same old pizza box with no "i" indication.

Bought it yesterday to the meet in Charlotte, Joe Grado donated it.

They look nice. The cups are shaped like the MS2i "fatboys" and the cable looks a good bit thicker.

Really wish they could have eliminated a couple of unpopular headphones in the lineup like the SR-125i and SR-325is to make a production version of the HF-1. They could even charge up to $350 for it if that's what it would take to cover costs of the wood and I wouldn't mind.

Yes, those cups are a nice shape and a big improvement over the standard shape imo. That cable does look a bit more sturdy than the older stuff and hopefully won't kink as easily.

The stems seem like they might still kink easily. I am personally glad to hear that its four conductors though, makes for an easier conversion from stock to balanced hopefully.

Bah, and I was thinking of saving up for some hf-1's.
