I liked it -- I was hoping for a little more body, but I didn't mind the mild sour. Errs on the side of inoffensive, but I'm glad of that.

Damn Al, that majorly fucking blows. I loved that patio area and am having a big sad that you have to deal with it covered in mud. So with that said, I dedicate this night's drinking to you. Right now, that's a Bluecoat martini.

I was worried that it might be a little sweet but those proportions work quite well. Good stuff!

Moving on to a little Hanky Panky

1 1/2 oz Bluecoat Gin

1 1/2 oz Carpano Antinco Sweet Vermouth

2 dashes Fernet Branca

Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist a paper thin swathe of orange over the drink and drop in.

Wow, this is remarkably good.

this is like a sweet, Whiskey-fied Baltic...i think i'll snag 'nother one for aging...

oh, & it should be noted that that is an old label...the beer is now 11% ABV...it's 54% ale & 46% ale aged in Whiskey barrels...& i don't know how many bottles are out there...this is the 2011...

1/2 Rye Whisky.

1/4 Italian Vermouth.

1/4 White Curacao.

The Juice of 1/2 Lime.

Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.

Put to good use the new 0.75 oz jigger that arrived today

Also, one for the experts. What is the best sub for Dubonnet. Dolin Rouge, Carpano, or Punt e Mes?

So there is a use for Fernet Branca besides a "shot."

Earlier today I had my first Jester King brew(s). I really liked the Black Metal (Imperial Stout).... lots of smokey and chocolately goodness! Probably my second favorite Texas beer after St. Arnold Divine Reserve #10.
