I didn't know this part of her career. I found her in the late 80s and listened to the late 90s. I have missed a lot. Amazing release in the middle of disco area that is so full of soul and great production.

Supertramp, Live in Paris '79 -- great gig, all their top songs, zero filler, very great.

I was reminded how the second half of "Child of Vision" is just one long -- stonkin' -- piano solo, very much like The The's "Uncertain Smile".  Compare:

I don't really remember the details of the show, but I took a girl to see her favorite band REO Speedwagon in late 1979 even though I wouldn't have been caught dead there otherwise. I do recall it was a good show, and I also recall I didn't get even a proper kiss for my efforts.

Some good playing, the songs are okay to me.

Search For The New Land

Opening with this 16 minute monster, Lee had something to say in '66. With Wayne, Herbie and the boys, just a stellar set. {RVG of course}

Zim Ngqawana - Zimphonic Suites

It's in Qobuz and other sites

New to me artist who came recommended at another website. Kind of fun jazz, pretty straight ahead with African influence.

Sonny, Hawk. Hawk, Sonny. Nice to meet you.

Good colab. They play with themes and sounds back and forth the entire album. With some experimental things going on as well.

by Aaron Copland (1988)

Example:

Finally getting back to finish off the trio of CBS Masterworks: Copland v Copland... Like the others, just lovely, maybe not the most audiophile of the recordings out there, but super lush and the performance is unquestionably good. I may poke around a little bit more for other recordings, I have a few others in my queue (Bernstein, MTT, Marriner), but I feel that in the future, I will probably just come back to these.

Funny, I just came here to post what I listened to yesterday. The sound quality is pristine. I've always been a fan of HDCD, especiallly in Reference Recording's hands.

YMMV, but I very much enjoy the performance as well. I've had this disc for years.

^^ this.

I had it high in my queue and your post pushed it forward. Not an easy listen. Not that it is not really good. It is pretty great. But it is not for the faint of heart. There are a lot of notes, and they are not in the order that I would expect. But listening deeply there are themes and phrases that emerge that are very rewarding. And some tunes that are absolutely beautiful.  Well recorded and minimizes the Jarrett mumble.

Side note - last week when I had a friend visiting, I tried to explain - The Köln Concert - It was hard with someone that does not listen to jazz and had never heard of it before.

Martha Argerich plays Beethoven - Conductor Ion Marin - ARTE Concert

full of goodness.

The band split up in 2002, got back together 24 years later and made this album. Low expectations on that and pop isn't exactly my favorite genre.

I'd say they not only produced a good album but hit it out of the ballpark good. Or at least a triple.

Pulp you say?
