Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Started by archosman,

So last Friday I get a notice at my apartment that says they're checking everyone's fire extinguisher to make sure they're all up to spec. No biggie. Cleaned up everything, left the extinguisher on the counter just like they asked... no problem. I get home about 6:45pm tonight. Never guess what I find in my lock? Their copy of my key... on their keyring... in the lock... my door unlocked as well. Guess I should consider myself fortunate that no one grabbed any of my stuff. Unbelievable. I'm gonna play stupid and let them think they lost it.

I got the Airmotiv 4 today and they sound great. They are also so small! However, I have a safety concern that I wanted to ask about. First, they are not grounded but have a metal plate in back. This concerns me - seems dangerous. I know there is a lot of electronic equipment that is not grounded but I would guess that having the metal in back and using high voltage (I assume it is high voltage) would require a ground. It uses a 3 prong cord but there is no connection to the ground. Here is a picture of the IEC inlet. Second (and this is the weird thing), the manual clearly says the following. Why would they say that if the ground was connected to …

Anyone wants to play a game? Post a picture of a band or even just one performer and everyone can guess who the hell it is. If no one knows original poster should post the answer. Once identity is revealed post next new pic. I will start this off with an easy one.

The boy wants to be Dr. Horrible for Halloween and of course waited until now to figure out the costume. The "Howie" lab coat below is the preferred style, although buttons would be even better than snaps apparently, but to get it in time will be over $100 of shipping. Any of you scientific type 'Casers have access to such a coat that you could FedEx to me? Willing to pay but thinking that $100+ for shipping is a bit much. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

I've been thinking about getting one for my back porch, which would probably stay there all year long. Would be anchored in to cement columns so no need for something with a built in stand. The porch isn't screened in, so it would attract bugs and dust, and would probably collect water as well. Thus I'm leaning towards simple rope hammock. No particular price point, just wondered if anyone has a hammock that they like to lounge in and would recommend. Some rather interesting products out there, ranging all over the place in terms of price: http://gearpatrol.com/2013/07/19/big-swingers-five-best-hammocks-2/ http://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/decora…

Hippy birbday, @cetoole! I asked Bing.com to make some images for the occasion and I couldn't pick just one, so here are, well, all of them. Note, there was nothing alcoholic or drink related in the prompts (my bad), but Bing knows you (or me?) too well. I mean, this one even got the lime! This had a super cute pupperz This also has a super cute pupperz This one has pupperz of cuteness and a longboard style that I belieb you may have one of already. Don't you love the truck mounting?

Happy 21st birthday to my daughter Zoë! I know I've known a lot of you since she was around 2-3 years old, and somehow she made it through to adulthood. Here she is at her birthday dinner with her future MIL, having her first legal drink! (And one of the very few she's ever had.) I'm really proud of her, and she had a good day. Her past two birthdays have been bad (tested positive for COVID in 2021 during her fall break an hour before she was leaving for the airport to fly home, and her now fiancee (Michael, above) had just driven home to CO, so she wound up in AZ all alone on her first birthday away from home.
