So here goes:palm: When I finally purchase my first headphone amp, how should I connect this to an AV amp that already has a headphone input socket. When plugging in headphones the external speakers, ''as you all know'' cut off and the sound automatically goes through the headphones I currently have a Denon AVC A1SE, of which I intend to keep hold of, so do I place a headphone jack adaptor in the socket, and connect the headphone amp into the analogue inputs, unless the amp has Digital Coax / or fiber optic....will this be correct.…

So last week my vintage Mc2100 amp was shipped back from a recap, and when I hook it up the left channel doesn't play anything but some low-level hum noise. Subbing the Eico or Heathkit amps into the EXACT SAME setup works perfectly, so it must be the 2100, right? Wrong! Does anyone have a guide that one could use to tell apart real and pirated CDs? Yesterday I received an Arcturus disc from ebay. The seller has 80+ positive feedbacks, and most recently (before I won this auction) got a negative from a buyer saying the CD was a fake. It was for an import CD. Everything from the booklet, back insert/inside insert makes it look authentic. Even the front of the CD looks authentic. Then I look at the matrix info on the underside of the CD and it says Tocano 2001 DK 47169, IFPI LP51 and then a barcode. As you know, I'm banned from headfi for another 9 days. However I'm in the middle of writing up a mini-review & impressions of some speakers I've heard lately, and I need to pull up some of the posts I've written on head-fi. I just received a call from a (800) number to my Verizon cell phone with a pre-recorded message telling me to claim my Verizon wireless reward by logging on to Verizon18.com. I had my doubts, but the website looked identical to the real Verizon website, and when I clicked on certain parts of the fake website such as "customer service," it brought up the reall verizon wireless customer service page, so the scam is designed well. What gave it away was it requiring you to type in the ID, password, then the last 4 of social security number. This now appears very dangerous, and I called Verizon, they confirmed this is not a Verizon website or …

Hey all, I am flying this afternoon and am planning on bringing my portable headphone amp in my carry on bag. I won't have any full size cans, just my IEMs with me (which might make explaining what it is even harder). Has anyone had problems getting through security with one? It does look rather odd if you don't know what it is, especially when tethered to my ipod and there is a LOD between them.
