Jesus these things are killing me with their vice-like grip on my head, and my head is not even that big! After an hour of listening my jaw starts to hurt. Is there any way to make them grip less?

Haven't got around to ordering a K701 replacement yet. Considering AD2000 for A-T's proven noggin-friendliness. Source: PC > Fireface > Max or direct from FF Gets tossed around a lot (the K701 ended up looking very secondhand before it died, and the HD650 doesn't look a lot better). Unsure whether the AD's will hold up. If they're anything like the A900 / A1000 the chances are not so I'll avoid. Yay or nay. And why. Thanks. ?300 ($550 + ship if abroad) is the max I have in mind for this phone, so any other (open) suggestions and why appreciated.

i need some cans with good soundstage. other needs: -neutral -natural -detailed, high resolution -transparent/good transients with great sounding drums -prat -would like it to be closed (PL750?) but is not a necessity if it really does limit the soundstage and other needs -price (HD580?) these would be paired with either a CK-K3 amp or SOHA amp with a GE 6680 tube and maybe jisbos (would this be enough?) OR i can try to get into entry level STAX. from what i've heard, the new series(303, 202) are more neutral, more airy/soundstage, but maybe a bit of a high mid emphasis compared to the Lambdas and SR-X/MK3. where would i look for these? i can't read yahoo …

These will be used almost exclusively for gaming. I am much more concerned with comfort than I am with quality. If I had to rank them myself from the research I've done.... Don't really care much about bass, more about mids. As I read that's what is important for gaming. My budget is about $150 otherwise I would have probably bought the MA900's already. Right now, all I have is the MBP, Duet, & a pair of AudioEngine A5's (powered speakers). I really like the K1000 and Grados. The HD650 is cool too, just looking for a third headphone. Just wondering how the bass and soundstage is compared to the HD580 or HD650 (even K501)? Is there good extension on both ends? Going to use it with the built in amp on the Lavry. addendum: I really disliked the HD590. It was one of the worst expensive headphones I've heard. It was my benchmark for no midrange...the 595 does improve on it a lot right...? And after spending a lot of time with the 580/650, if I were to call any Senn dark it would be the 590.

I've had my TakeTs for not quite a month now. Truth be told, I've barely listened to them. Right now I am considering the sony Qualia 010 and saw one popped up for sale on Head-Fi.org: Headphones, iPod earphones, portable audio, MP3 players, high-end audio . However, I really dont know how much the headphone is worth nowadays because it is really rarely appeared on the used market. The trick is that the owner also wants to sell his M size headband . OK - putting the neck on the chopping block here! I have the SRD-7 with the Spritzer Professional bias board, so, in effect, an SRD-7 Pro. Love the sound with the Sigma/404 and driven by a Studer A68. The bottom end is nicely in control (as Birgir has said happens with upscale amplification ala Blue Hawaii SE or that ilk), and there is more of the power that these earspeakers have in spades. They seem to convey the "oomph" of the performance much better than any other Stax I've heard. Although the Lambda Nova Signature/SRM-Monitor is probably more technically neutral, this combination seems to get a natural sound out of most recordings, just as Naotake Hayashi mentioned.…

Had my T50 rp for about 3 weeks now. Maybe 70 hrs burn in thus far. Waiting on internal mods until my replacement pads come in. In the meanwhile i DL EQU for iphone/ipad and TBH these things with my amp have done a 180. I now have soundstage, improved dynamics and decay. Anyone else experience this? or should i simply put the pipe down? Trav

Having owned a DCA Aeon Noire for a while the DCA Stealth got me interested. I like what Dan is trying to achieve, with the introduction of the Expanse I couldn’t resist the urge to buy another flagship. So I have an Expanse incoming, will be pairing it with a CFA2. I do not like the dicky naming of the products, minor gripe hopefully I’m happy with what the Expanse brings to the table being that I love what the Noire achieves at its price point. Will be updating with impressions when I’m ready, has anybody heard or owned a DCA Stealth or Expanse?

I finally did it. I ordered those things with a Koss Porta Pro for a friend's B-day. He like's his Shure e2c so I thought to introduce him to the KSC75s and portapros. The portapros were my first high end can when I was just 10 or 11. Back in the day it was those foam earpads for the walkman's. Yeah, me neither, never heard of them. Then some distributor in New Jersey contacts me and says I should hear them. "They're like the Beats Solo HD but better!" Yeah right. Using those headphones as a reference sure gets me excited ... not. Then they show up. Look a LOT like Solos. Sound and measure like pure gold though, baby! Woot! This is a seriously good headphone. They're available here at Amazon for $99.

Check out the state of my R10s after I got them back. I am pretty sure they were like this before they went out on loan. The foam has completed melted/congealed into a sticky mess on the wood around the drivers. There is even a bit on the driver grills. I sent these pics to Alex to see if he was willing to resurrect them. I can get new pads and foam from Mikhail. Please let's have a moment of silence for the speedy recovery of my R10s .

I have a KGSS and SR007 Mk2. I usually leave my KGSS on all the time. Is it best to leave the headphones plugged into the KGSS all the time to allow full charge or to just plug them in a little while before a listening session?
