Hey guys & gals, I'm new hear but found this through Google. So awhile back I had my HD650's directly plugged into the front of my Mac Pro and I pushed my chair back and slightly bent the plug as well as the headphone jack in the Mac Pro. So for about two months, I'd have to jiggle the plug and keep tension on the cord in order to get sound from both drivers. Then about two weeks ago, I couldn't get the right driver to play. So I bought a new adapter to fit in my computer, nothing. So I tried my headphones in my Amp without the adapter, same deal, only the left side working. I've tried other headphones in my computer and they work. So, did I blow a driver someho…

Talk about timing...USPS and FedEx both arrive at exactly the same time with Mr. USPS carrying my new Pint amp and Mr. FedEx carries my E500 and Cardas mini-mini! Fired thing up and to say I'm impressed is an understatement. Most definitely THE most comfortable IEM's I've ever worn. First impressions on the sonics is also very positive. Yummmm!!! If anyone wants more pics of the E500's, let me know. I was at the office and so was the camera!!

I am hoping we will receive HD 800s in the UK very soon. To make sure that priority is given to those people who have placed pre-orders with dealers please will you let me have the following information if you have already placed a pre-order Your Name The dealer you placed the order with (name and town) The date you placed the order Quantity (if you ordered more than one) You can either send me a PM or e-mail me (jwillett) at Sennheiser UK (sennheiser.co.uk). Hopefully we should have enough headphones to cover all pre-orders, but want to make sure that the pre-orders are fulfilled before the general stock headphones go out. Thanks.…

On my commute, I have been using Apple Earbuds, which seem to leak a bit of sound. I am normally riding on a train car designated as "Quiet Car" and have had a couple of people look at me if I'm really cranking something, so I was looking for something that didn't leak as much. I know, JH13 I ran across the HifiMan HE400s on innerfidelity, which Tyll seemed to like, and can get these for around $50. I also noticed they have an HE400i (iPhone) or HE400a (Android). From what I can tell, these do not have a microphone, but do have the inline volume control thingy? The reviews seem to indicate that the inline controls are cheap and break. I never really use these, but i…

Can someone give me an idea on what a fair price to ask for SR 007 MK2 Serial SZ3. Sadly my hearing just doesn't do justice to them anymore so want to sell. They are still in mint condition with little use probably 200 hours and with carrying case and documentation. They are about 4-6 years old and have been stored in their box when not in use. I am the second owner and i always have used them on KG's amps. Thanks Guys.

Anyone else notice their headphone hearing changes after a haircut? It's gotten so I anticipate it each time I'm due... it was pretty bad this time, being about two months overdue. However, the benefit is that my Alessandro MS-1 sound a lot better today (at the same volume level)... highs and overall clarity and imaging improve. Having longer hair must have some kind of HRTF effect (I made sure my hair was never covering my ears when it was long).

I'm finding more and more that the profile of the Etys is interfering with my enjoyment of them. Allow me to explain a bit. I primarily use these headphones for listening while I'm doing yardwork (mowing), riding the motorcycle (at low levels so I can still hear the world) and while reading. The fact that the Etys protrude quite a bit outside my actual ear when properly inserted is causing some discomfort and annoyance. So what I'm wondering is what would be the cheapest route to custom-insert IEMs? The least-expensive commercial product that I've found is the UE-5c's and at $550 they are well beyond what I'm willing to spend. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hello I am new to this forum and require a repair on my STAX Omegas. The right channel has begun cutting out when I move my head. It is intermittent. It is not amp related as I have tried them with more than one amp. Can anyone recommend someone based in the UK who could do a repair. Many thanks.

I had suspected this for quite a while, but I've only been able to say it a few times. At the Los Angeles Meet, after I had heard everything I wanted to hear, I picked up Headroom's K701 and tried to find the perfect SE amp for it. the idea was that eventually I'd find the perfect synergy, and I did. No, it wasn't some maxed SP amp or that lovely ZD, or even the powerful blockhead... but, a humble DIY dynahi that really brought it up to life. fast forward about a year... Over this summer i've been blessed by the opportunity to baby sit Humanflyz's GS-X. It really did some amazing things to the HD650 (fully balanced of course, with Daba's Benchmarck Dac-1). And that is…

I have had my eyes on a super.fi 5 for a while, until I almost grabbed the triple.fi yesterday. Now I want a triple.fi.. but not at $400. So I am a bit worried about the form factor (that is what did me in for the er4, I couldn't stand it). Headroom has a nice price on the bstock super.fi 3, at $45 plus $12 shipping. That got my thinking. Then I remembered Radio Shack carried the super.fi 3 'studio'. Its the same as the super.fi 3 pro, except they include a bi flange and an airplane adapter So I head over to their site today, and notice that instead of the $120something they used to sell it for, it is down to 59.97. I meet my sister at a store (she works there part…

Any one here have to deal with a RMA from Ulitmate Ears? I sent in a pair of Triple-Fi's over three months ago and they keep giving me the run around saying they shipped replacements. So far there are supposedly two sets of replacements in the mail which should have been here by now. I typically like to give companies the benfit of the doubt but I am starting to get pretty pissed. I guess it's more important for them to go give away headphones to celbrities than take care of actual paying customers.

Just got my UE10's. This is my first impression with a set made using my...impressions. First (sonic) impression is pretty much the same as I got at the National meet using a generic seal, but better still. These things are incredible. An IEM with real low end. Loads more detail than ER4s. Can be driven by pretty much anything. Not as isolating as the Ety's, but very nice sonic upgrade.

I've come to a crossroads, when I was somewhat forced into downgrading to one phone some of the sting was taken out of it because I thought I'd found the perfect all-rounder for my preferences and budget in the E500's. I'm a bit of a basshead, I like my mids as well and I?m quite sensitive to sibilance so the overall balance of the E500's suits me, I know it's not the perfect phone and there's better on the market but I've always found them to be a satisfying listen that has allowed me to focus on the music not the equipment. Although the E500's satisfy me sonically I recently fell victim to the cable cracking problem, not only that but one of the soft plastic pieces a…

I know we do not discuss headphones much anymore but I have question for the Grado experts. I have to replace the pads on a couple of my Grados (actually one is an Alessandro) due to the infamous pad disintegration issue. There is some residue on the wooden cups that I would like to clean off. It is pretty clean just using a soft cloth and soft brush but there is some residue that I would like to remove without harming the finish. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hello, I have a vintage pair of Realistic PRO-50 headphones which I believe are the same as the AKG K250 600 ohm. (Made for Radio Shack by AKG.) They sound fine except for a very poor bass response. If I play them through either a software or hardware equalizer with the base controls pushed up high I do get a better bass response. I am using them with a Schiit Magni 3 amplifier set on the high position. I also get the same results with other headphone amps. Is this normal for this headphone? Are there any modifications to the headphones that I can make to improve the bass response? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone have an idea where I can get the AD2000 at the "best" price. The average I have seen it retailing for is $700 but some of the older threads refer to the cost being closer to $500 a few years ago. thanks..dB

I found out today that the wiring on the right earpiece of my SE530 is loose, so that whenever I move, the signal cuts out. Fortunately they are still under warranty, so I sent them in for Shure to repair. My question is: what could have caused the wiring to be loose in the first place, so I can prevent this from happening in the future. I have been running with them on the treadmill everyday for the past two months, so is it that? And if it is, color me disappointed, because I thought the build quality should be able to withstand running.
