Since my trainer has decided to stick me on a stairmaster and/or elliptical thingy for one hour six days a week, I need tunes to get me through the tedium and misery. I absolutely HATE the let's-get-moving music gyms play (fortunately, I'm in her home and have no competing ugly music blasting). I hate club/dance music for the most part and music with programed drums. I just want to forget I'm on this damn thing and make the time disappear. I've had my ipod on shuffle, and have found that some songs, usually long ones, and ones I've known for years but still love seem to work best. I start listening, get happy, and time blows by. I just picked this up a week ago on vinyl and CD. I haven't given the Glow Pt 2 a careful listen in a while. It safe to say that it still holds up with any of my favorite albums. If you haven't listened to this album yet than I highly recommend that you pick it it up. If you get the re-released version then it comes with an entire disc of songs that were written from this period and compliment the album quite well edit: shit. will a mod move this to the music section and delete this edit?

I am a big fan of vinyl. I still have my first records that I purchased as a little kid in the early '70s and they are still in decent shape. I still buy a lot of used albums and several new ones. Here lately, my luck with new albums has been pretty bad. I bought John Prine's last record and it sounds good. I pre-ordered the reissue of John Prine's first album and it sounds awful. I have the cd and it sounds good. I recently bought Charlie Crockett's latest album. I knew that it should sound great because on the radio and on tital it sounds like it was recorded at Sun Records 60 years ago. An entire instrumental release from NIN? Well, Trent definitely has my attention. His work on Still was amazing. Anyone else checking this out? Though its a band I don't listen to that much, maybe because I lost all of their CDs over the years, but TMBG has consistently been one of my all time favorite bands since I was 13 years old. Back then I only had ears for bands like Metallica, GNR, Slayer, and Pantera, but somehow TMBG squirmed their way in there. They spoke to my dorky metal heart in a way no band really has since, except maybe Phish. Anyone else a fan? I never see any TMBG in the WAYLT thread so I thought I'd ask.

So, this is a really stupid question, but I was wondering if DVD-A discs have PCM 24/96 tracks on them? If I have a transport that can play the PCM information off of DVD-V discs, is there any reason it won't work with DVD-A discs? Thanks!

Hey guys I set my turntable up with a new cartridge tonight, dialed in all the settings, connected my phono stage and verified that everything works. However all I have to test it is a slightly warped and slightly dirty 45 rpm from 1972. Where are some good online sources for vinyl? I need at least a few reference albums to get rolling.
