Doing some work on the site today so there will be periods where it's down. Edit: Server move and forum software update have been completed now. The search index has to re-index so it'll be a few hours before that's working normally again.

You have likely noticed that the email notifications have been broken for quite some time, they are now fixed and working again.

Seeing some problems with the forum since yesterday. The Condensed view doesn't seem to be working. Everytime I jump into a thread, I start at the beginning. Not a huge deal, but it changed all of a sudden.

As the forum software is removing support for their built-in hosted chat feature a new Slack channel has been setup. I'll be doing an update to the forum software starting at approximately 4PM EST today. This is a pretty large change, as search is completely redone and the traditional view new content functionality has been replaced as well. Other notable changes include the menu structure and an updated version of the WYSIWYG editor that should work better on mobile browsers.

Tomorrow starting at approximately 9PM EST I will be performing a major upgrade of the forum software. The new version is a complete rewrite of the forum software from the ground up, so there are many, many changes to it. Due to this the upgrade itself will possibly take several hours during which time the forums will be inaccessible. Once the upgrade is done there are several background tasks that must finish to restore fully functionality of the site. These tasks could take anywhere from 24-48 hours to complete. The infinite dark theme will be going away shortly, the dev has already announced it won't be updated to support the upcoming major new version of the forum software. It won't be removed until I find a suitable replacement that will be updated to support the next forum software version.

I upgraded the forum software tonight from version 3.3.4 to version 3.4.0. It's a pretty major upgrade with a lot of behind the scenes changes so please let me know if you see any issues. EDIT: Also I've seen some reports of users not being able to post and getting a "post empty" message. Please try clearing your browser cache or doing a hard refresh (Control + F5 on Windows).

I added a new theme today, it's called "Uniform" and you can switch to it by clicking the Change Theme link on the bottom left of the page. Let me know how you guys like it. It has several options for background images/color choices which you can see by clicking the "Background Image" icon that's right next to the view new content link near the top right.

I upgraded the forum software today from 3.2.3 to 3.3.1 it's a pretty substantial upgrade so you might notice some of the extra features are currently disabled. I'll be turning things back on one at time and upgrading them when necessary. I also need to upgrade the dark theme so that likely doesn't work right now.

Starting the process for upgrading the IPB forum software to version 3.2. You'll see some features disappear during the transition. Not sure how long the upgrade will take - will update this post/thread as things move along.

Finally added one of the more common requests I get - a dark theme - hit the "change theme" link at the bottom of the page and choose the "Infinite Dark" option. After changing the theme if you look at the little button next to the "gallery" button at the top you can change the color to your liking.

Due some recent issues with the vBulletin software (the double post problem for example) and the general direction I see the software headed in (off a cliff). I've made the decision to switch to IPB Community & Forum Software - Invision Power Services, Inc.. Now for the good news, just about every feature currently available will be available with the new software. Existing links will continue to work, the links will change but old links will get re-directed to the new link. headwize and my other sites will be down starting november 26 thru the 28th or 29th due to power shutdown to wire in the power to my new building. Also down december 29 thru january 1 to finish the job.

The update to 4.0.8 didn't go smoothly today, the styling on the bottom section (who's online) etc is currently broken. Working on fixing it now, PM me if you notice anything else wrong.
