  7. Matt (mattyice) brought the Flow over yesterday and I am mightily impressed by the sound. On my ECP Dac + Headamp GS-1 (dynalo +) module, I prefer them over both the hifiman HEK and Senn HD-800. I found them to be very fast, cohesive, dynamics, and immensely enjoyable with a good soundstage (something that the HEK wasn't good at). I am usually not easily impressed by newer headphones, but I have to say this one got my serious attention. I actually wish I can own one right now. Still, I think that the gap between the three phones maybe closer on my home balanced setup consisting of the yggy + susy dynahi / ECP audio DSHA-0. On the GS-1, the Ether Flow was simply a better sounding headphones to my ears by noticeably margin. I usually find the HD800 to scale better than most headphones hence the comment on my home balanced setup.

  11. The geforce optimizer stuff is pants on head retarded at times, sometimes it comes up with sane settings, and then sometimes it'll cause a game to need twice my actual vram, or want to crank stuff up to the point a game drops to 30fps. I may have to go against my usual desire to play games in order and just skip to Witcher 3 when it gets cheap enough. I've tried twice to play through Witcher 1 and it just is such a complete slog to get through.

  13. Today I could dedicate time to amp. It took me very little time regulate. The balance was 0~1 volt (derived a little between both values) and offset was 0~0,5volt (derived a little too).

  16. Astroturf does the typical cop-out here. n3rdling said nothing about illegality of owning 2 or more amps. He was just commenting on Astroturf's gushing "expose" of how the KGSSHV trumps the BHSE overall as an amp - in his opinion. Now that Astroboy has a BHSE, he is naturally open to criticism for his past posts. In fact, it is compulsory for selected individuals on this mortal coil to balance the effect of those lesser and benighted mortals who do not own even one, or (horror/shudder) own something akin to a Cavalli miscreation. Consider this as sort of a cosmic damper/regulator/compensator. Keep up the great work, kg.

  18. You should read some threads on the DIY forum here, starting with this one: http://www.head-case.org/forums/topic/11779-stax-mafia-circuit-boards/ You will only be able to buy these boards if someone makes them available for sale, or if you order a manufacturing run for yourself. Some posts here contain discussions about where and how to do this.

  19. I finished the 2nd Witcher 3 DLC this weekend. I'm just gonna come out and say it. Now that I've played through the complete experience The Witcher 3 is now my favorite game of all time. It is finally time to knock Deus Ex off that pedestal and in to the #2 spot. Witcher 3 has everything I look for in a game. Amazing, "adult" storylines. Phenomenal characters. One of the best looking games on PC, a technical masterpiece. Fun gameplay. The amazing thing is RPGs and games with Fantasy themes usually aren't my type of thing at all. It is a testament to how good W3 is that it is my favorite game regardless. The two DLCs are "must play" if you've enjoyed the base game. 5/5. Duh. -- Also finished off DOOM. What a fun little game. Executing hell-demons to heavy metal puts a smile on my face every time. It looks and runs great on PC. Kudos, ID, for doing such a good job rebooting it. DOOM was the kind of game Steam Sales are made for. I've spend about 11 hours with it and now I'm done. I have zero desire to try its multiplayer, and I'll probably never go back through the campaign again, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy my time with it. I very much did. It sure is fun to see these old classics rebooted. I would say the Wolfenstein reboot had the better story but Doom runs better and has the better gameplay of the two. 4/5. Get it on sale and let that chainsaw rip.

  22. This is some fucked up shit. I don't play CS:GO, but I am familiar with the virtual economy of its older and vastly more silly brother. There are several TF2 gambling sites and recently a number of them shut down.

  23. I would loan you the Ether anytime Purk. The 1.1 upgrade really made a nice difference and you should give it another listen for sure. With the Questyle mono block setup, they sound pretty amazing. I go back and forth between Ether and hd800. I don't think that I'd want to give up either one.
