  1. Alec is trying out as catcher for the local baseball travel team. This evening he took a foul tip fastball "straight on the dick", as he put it. Learned two important life lessons -- always wear a cup and don't ever expect sympathy for a nut shot, as everybody is too busy laughing their asses off at your agony. Seems more or less OK, we've applied the bag of frozen peas down the pants.

  2. Attended the first meeting of the Marin County 4k OLED owners group over lunch. Also in attendance were a British ex-pat and a tall guy.

  7. So I did end up using a female header socket and air wiring the ground. The part number for the 4 pin right angle header is 68016-404hlf. The leds I used are extremely bright orange-red, glad once i case it up it will be harder to see. I am measuring about 3.95ma after a few minutes warm up but the thing lights up like a Christmas tree. Will do further testing hopefully over the weekend Edit: the diamond buffer boards are getting really toasty

  9. The self-proclaimed poop truck took away the contents of the tank, thankfully. Tried the jam this morning and it is tasty stuff, if I do say so myself. Plenty left for you to judge for yourself.

  10. If only I had a loaf of Mikey Bread to go with the local creamery butter and the new jam. Life would be even more sweet!

  12. This morning we had the septic tank pumped out for the first time in at least seven years. Gave away a load of books that belonged to my in laws, but kept plenty of others. Then I made some red raspberry freezer jam using fruit grown within a mile from here.

  13. I have a discrete opamp that is unity gain stable that sounds quite nice. Once you get this up and running and familiar with the sound, I would appreciate a comparison. Will send samples for positive review only though. K thx bye. Actually, it would be a PITA - mine are dual opamps on a single board. So, would probably need a new board.

  17. The other Chattahoochee bike is in the house. Just building it out I can really see zero difference in build quality, welds, etc. between the Lynskey and cheaper Litespeed. Maybe it will be noticeable in the ride? They use the same shitty stickers, Litespeed comes with better shitty wheels and tires, Lynskey comes with more Lynskey branded parts that I assume someone else makes for them. Both come with average to below average cockpit, though the Lynskey does not have the MTB seatpost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Avid Volvere (black) with Airtight PC-1 Supreme and Avid Sequel SP (silver) with Airtight PC-1 Supreme and back-up Benz LPS. SME V arm and Kubala-Sosna Emotion phono cable on both tables. Going to unload the Sequel SP and move to a better table for stereo and then use the Volvere for mono listening.

  22. Jeff, I honesty choose bikes based on whether or not they look like something I'd ride. Honestly. I look at the Jekyll, giggle like a little kid and go hit the trails. Based on that sophisticated analysis method my $$ would go towards the CC. In actual riding news I got out on a very nice, 7.5mi MTB ride this afternoon after work. I'm not sure there's a better way to end a work day.
