The Traeger makes that part too easy. Going to double down on all the smoked meat this week and prepped a pork shoulder to cook while teleworking tomorrow.

Tee hee hee, but sadly my offer was not accepted and the listing got one bid in the waning minutes. It's ok, I think I've found the motivation to get the Thorens out of storage and see if it still works.

^ I have the original vinyl from '87. It was the first vinyl I had, a gift from my mother when I was just 10 years old and I released my first stereo. Over time I have been gathering different versions, both on cd and vinyl. I love that album and it means a lot to me (along with the "blood sugar sex magik" and the "seventh son of a seventh son")

Yes, link aggregation is good, but don't mistake it for turning two Gigabit ports into 250 MB/s transfer speed. Each port still operates at its own full speed, but link aggregation allows multiple clients to access the device at faster speeds (e.g., two computers can access the Synology at a full 125 MB/s each rather than 60MB/s over a shared link, theoretically). With a single client, you're still limited to the speed of the port.

Both the 220+ and 420+ support link aggregation and failover support on their two Ethernet ports. As long as any switches and cables you have support gigabit speeds they will both work well. When I got my first Synology unit I experimented with different RAID setups, but I eventually settled upon their hybrid raid system (SHR). My newer unit has the Cache M.2 drives which has been a game changer for speed and I have not felt the need to switch the main drives from HD to SSD. I also agree with HiWire that you will want to max out the RAM sooner versus later because it can be a bottleneck in the system.

In 2011 I bought everything needed for a D.I.Y. T2 ( except the chassis and the 4-gang attenuator or pot for level control) and had every intention of building the thing... but then I became disabled and unable to build it.... though I still fantasized that I would build it- somehow. Well, that clearly is never going to happen, and due to the situation I find myself in, I need to get the money back that I spent on these parts. I offered them to Birgir (Spritzer) but he doesn't need them; he suggested I offer them here. I have attached my T2 Bill of Materials with part numbers, prices and etc. Have a look and if you are interested, make an offer. FYI I will only sell this as a lot. All transistors obtained from sources other than Mouser/Digikey/Allied have been characterised ( breakdown voltage and curves measured ) to make sure there are no fakes. t2parts-milosz.xls
