Did the “SF Stair Challenge,” a walk around San Francisco put on by a neighborhood advocacy group to promote making the City more walkable. This is a very cool route. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to explore some of the hills of the northern part of the City. https://abc7news.com/sf-stair-challenge-walk-san-francisco-what-to-do-best-walks/13181267/4 points

Same thing happened to Dave Swarbrick, violin player and singer in Fairport Convention. He used to make a joke of it and announce his demise before a concert, handing out signed copies of his obituary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Swarbrick He ultimately did die aged 75. As a lifelong chain smoker, he had shot lungs, and after three tracheostomies used to perform with an oxygen cylinder and mask next to him that he had to puff on during a gig. He was a seriously determined performer. He needed a lung transplant to save his life, but our health service wanted nothing to do with him and a private operation was the only way. So the folk singing community held a series of concerts called SwarbAid to raise money for the treatment. That bought him 10 years, during which I saw him in a tiny folk venue with Martin Carthy a a year before Swarb actually did die. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Carthy3 points

I don’t remember much about the Cronenberg film, and as always different strokes, and thanks for letting me know this existed. I though had the opposite response to the pilot and found it electrifying and honestly at times brave. Some of this stuff, around women’s expectations, bodies and sexuality, especially surrounding reproduction/birth, is rarely talked about, not really, which is really pretty strange, but probably also why it’s ripe for horror-kinda-ish stories, and was well executed, I thought, here in a tight opening episode. And the dialogue… She’ll like you. She likes smart women. Who doesn’t? Men and most other women. Now, considering the source, it’s pretty likely going to fly off the rails at some point, but that takes nothing away of riding that line for awhile. It may be happening already by the second episode where they throw a full deck of big pharma donor wildcards into the mix, but then again that’s all potentially interesting commentary too. I can’t wait to watch more.2 points

Some recent TV series watches: Citadel (Amazon Prime) - like, easy watch, recommended, Priyanka Chopra looks amazing, can't wait for the next ep to drop Dead Ringers (Amazon Prime) - not so much after one ep, despite being a big Rachel Weisz fan...if the original movie with Jeremy Irons grossed you out, take a pass on this The Last Thing He Told Me (AppleTV) - yawn, super-disappointing for a Jen Garner fan (Alias) after two or three eps (I'm not sure when I fell asleep)1 point

Maybe DN2535 (max voltage 350V) will work. Main difference to DN2540 (max voltage 400V) seems to be the maximum voltage. In stock at Mouser for roughly the same price as DN2540.1 point

I'll just say I interacted with one of these this week. Bias voltage circuit was completely dead after being turned on less than a handful of times. I didn't get to even try it before it was inoperable. The fake tube thing...WTF?0 points
