  5. What, no fruit? I would have assumed that you would have mango with Mexican food. (Yes, I'm aware that avocado is a fruit. Nobody knows fruit better than me.)

  7. I got my first suppressor today (Huxwrx CA$H 9K). Next up, a Q Thunder Chicken (7.62) for my Sugar Weasel. (I purchased a 13" upper for my Q Sugar Weasel and dropped @n_maher's name, I hope you don't mind.)

  8. One of their few perfect albums. They usually do some scat based improv that I don't "get", but on Discipline, the weirdest they get is "Indiscipline", which is timeless. And side two, ohmigosh...just crazy good. Did you know Beat (Belew, Vai, Levin, and Danny Carey of Tool playing the music of King Crimson) are touring? I might have to go to that.

  13. I'm mixed on this, it's horrible on one hand, but at the same time Hamas hides behind civilians anyway, including in or near schools and hospitals....even firing weapons from those locations into Israel. I will always support Israel, but this (really Netanyahu and his actions) have me questioning SOME of that support. I truly wish there was another way to break out Hamas from the civilian population and deal with them separately. One thing that does provide some comfort is that a big group of Israeli's want him out, and have been protesting in some very large numbers. Even members of the military have been organizing against him (not as a coup, but in protest). What I have not seen is any Palestinian civilians protesting Hamas government. Maybe they can't in fear of violence or death, but that also says a lot to me (before the fallout after October 7th, who was more oppressive to Palestinian civilians?). And many of those civilians cheered and spit on corpses of murdered and raped Israeli's being paraded through Gaza.

  14. ^^ listened and liked - thx. Discipline by King Crimson (1981) https://album.link/i/1090440045 Example: A formative album in my late teen years. I didn't find this album until after Yes, So probably about 1986. It has been a while since I listened to it, I tend to gravitate towards "In The Court Of The Crimson King" wth it being more proggy. But I knew every track in this listen through to a high level of detail and of course enjoyment. I will not let it slip too far away...

  16. I saw this on a friend's FB page and I can't stop singing it in my head and I have played it many times in the last few days. The three part harmony, Rick Moranis' guitar solo, Eugene Levy's fake teeth and John Candy's wig and catch in his throat are all hilarious. These guys are so damn funny and SCTV was amazing. Decent!

  17. Here’s a quad of Western Electric 300B in the Grand Cayman. Just something i am trying while waiting on the first batch of finished enclosures to arrive (the power transformers just got here by boat) how does it compare with 20B? So far, here are some bullet points - Surprisingly low noise. This is with dc heaters. The blue hawaii, or Grand Cayman with 20B or 300B all have about the same noise floor, using decent tubes. - The gain is a bit low. About 375x with WE 300B, 425x with EHX, and the EML 20B version is about 700x. [note: i havent tried changing any feedback setting yet] for comparison most Stax amps are between 500x and 1000x gain the lower gain could work out great if adding a preamp in front of the amp, but for a quick increase to 1000x gain simply replace the input tube 6SN7/12SN7 with a higher gain 6SL7/12SL7 As one would expect, distortion is higher. About .1 to .2% under load, or about 10x as high as the 20B which one sounds better is likely going to be very subjective and will have to wait until i get a 2nd one put together for proper A/B comparisons
